I'm 50, retired as an E-7 from the US Air Force, and moved home to Price County, WI in 2007. I've been a bowhunter all my life. Wisconsin allowed crossbows for all hunters 2 years ago, and many of my friends have bought them and recommended I give it a try.

My bro-in-law bought a Scorpyd Orion 160 last month and I fell in love with shooting it. Looking to buy a Scorpyd next year, just researching which model would be best for hunting and shooting.

Divorced, daughter 25 and son 22. Love to golf and smoke any type of meat.

Looking forward to learning you all who have experience.

Thanks, and best wishes for a Happy 2016!!!

Welcome to CBN from the Eau Claire area! I have the Orion Extreme 160 also and love it! Have a Horton Storm and a TenPoint Stealth FX4 also, but the Scorpyd spent the most time on stand with me. Do you have a dealer close by up there? Closest for me is Hudson. Best of luck with whatever model you chose, they are real shooter's!

    Hey Fx,

Am probably buying from Jerry at South Shore Archery.

I travel to the Cities for work often, so could stop by that shop in Hudson.

Do you know if Wis allows the folding stock options?

    Thanks.

Not sure about folding stocks. The shop in Hudson had a Vent when I stopped in to check out the Orion. That being said, my guess would be that it's legal. Remember, our crossbow law is going to be reviewed after next season, things could change. You can stop in at Hudson to see one and decide if that's what you want. I ordered my Orion as well. Hard to beat Jerry!

Not a thing about folding stocks. But do not give them a chance to think about tham.

    Welcome for Columbus, Ga.

I have had a Scorpyd 160 Orion Extreme since Sep 16th of this year and LOVE IT.

Its accuracy is expensive - I learned the hard way - don't shoot two arrows at the exact same place on a target. I did and the second arrow destroyed the first.

I put an HHA Optimizer Speed Dial, w/ dedicated Hawke Optimizer scope, on it and it is a tack driver.

Just today, I was fooling around and chronied 5 arrows weighing an average of 455.7 grains - their average speed was 389.2 fps - blazing fast.

I'm handicapped, right leg amputated above the knee, 65 years old and even though I can cock it by hand, I enjoy the ease of using the AcuDraw that I bought with it. I use my drill to power it back.
