I just purchased a Barnett Jackal and I am looking for Recommendations on Arrow & Broadhead. Currently, I am leaning towards the 20" Carbon Express Surge arrow using a 100 grain G5 Striker. The total weight should be around 442 grains which is 17 grains over the minimum weight suggested by Barnett.

I have been using the Striker heads with my compound bow setup for a couple of years and have been really impressed with them, so I would like to use them in my crossbow setup.

Any feedback will certainly be appreciated.

I would like to use the Laser II arrows, but the 20" arrows with a 100 grain broadhead don't make the mininum overall weight of 425 grains recommended for the Jackal.

I would like to stay with the 100 grain broadheads, as I already have several of them that I shoot in my compound setup.

So far, the Carbon Express Surge & CX bolts are the only one's that I have found they weigh enough to use a 100 grain broadhead.

This is my first endeavor into shooting a crossbow. Are there any problems with using a 100 grain head versus a 125 grain head?

If your FOC is insufficient, you may have accuracy issues despite meeting minumum weight.

I shoot Laser II's as well, but add 25gr to the 110gr brass inserts to enable shooting 100gr heads.

As Old Longhair stated, Gold Tip makes brass weights that screw on the end of the insert from the inside. You can add as many as you like to get whatever weight you want. I have some arrows made up with 100 gr BH's with the weight inside. Gold Tip Laser II, Blaser vanes, Gold Tip moon nock, one 25 gr weight and 100 gr BH weighs 430 grs.

I use the Gold Tip Laser IV bolts with 100 grain Magnus Buzzcut broadheads. Works quite well!
