for my money it,s the Viper X..i have had one for a couple months now and maybe around 300 shots and it is not anywhere close to needing a change..with factory strings i will go thru at least 2 in a season..the Viper is the best i have ever used and for some reason the xbow seems to have less vibration...you can buy them here at the Crossbow Nation Store
Tx.Crossbow Hunting Club
Excalibur Exocet 200
Ten Point Titan HLX
Muzzy 125 three blade

I don't have a lot of experience with crossbows, but I put a set of ViperX cables and string on my Tornado when my original serving separated and was showing wear. I ordered them right here at the Crossbow Nation store, call Jeff if you want and he will make sure you are set up right. They are holding up VERY well for me and I have had zero problems. If your bow is shooting good otherwise, scribe mark your cams alongside of your limbs and jot down some measurements and save them so when you have work done to your bow you can check that the timing is the same as before.  I recommend this to everyone with any crossbow that has cams. This could save you a lot of trouble in getting it dialed in again.

Boo or Viper X is your best bet.

I do a lot of testing with a lot of different strings. The best, if cost is no object??? A custom made "BOO" string or the Viper "X". Can not go wrong with either one.

No experience with Boo; but love my ViperX.
Personally, I carry a gun because I'm too young to die and too old to
take an ass whoopin'

[I have a Boo string on my Excal. Vortex, and I love it.  From now on, it is the only string I will use.

dumb question: what should a guy/gal look for in a "good" xbow string if money is no object?
Parker Safari Classic (150lb) Hawke MAP scope + 400 grain arrows = 326 fps
2008 Diamond Black Ice - 29in draw, 70lbs, "no peep", HHA Optimizer Plus = 249 fps with 429 grain arrows
2011 Telson (Scorpyd) 130lb - 19.75in powerstroke, + Hawke SR scope = 390.2 fps with 400 grain arrows
2011 TAC 10i - (vids coming shortly)
2010 TAC 15 (used) - (more vids coming shortly)

You need to be sure the tag says Viper-X.

After reading this thread and inspecting the serving on my string, I ordered a Viper-X from the Crossbow Nation store (thanks, Jeff!).  It is orders of magnitude tighter and more solid than what's on the bow.  I'm looking forward to getting it installed and putting it to work.

To me there are some good string makers out there
and it becomes more of a personal choice.

My choice is allways Boo.
