The trigger on the Serpent ltd that I shot was very good. Also the barrel looks a bit shinier because of the flash of the camera.

The Serpent was in my top two until the new Bowtechs, the 350 and the 380 are tops. I love Dartons though, I shot one for about 20years. Hunter2

I like the bowtechs also, but i have a great darton dealer close and i've had poor luck getting parts for my bowtech compounds in the past. i think bowtech does a poor job with  service and that's pretty important when having your weapon down can cause you to miss large parts of given season. that said i'm certainly going to look at the 380.

Sooner -

To add to the "shiny" note..that looks like the same anodizing that they've used for the last...few...generations of crossbows.  It's not really shiny.  More of a "matt" finish.  Maybe close to semi-gloss at the worst.

As you note...for a company that's IN...the US...and uses US parts and manufacturing...they do seem a bit elusive here in the US.
Always (last 15 or so years or so anyway) have.  No clue why.

Not real big on advertising.  They don't sponsor nearly every show on the Sportsman's channel or big "Hunting celebrities" like one, possibly 2-3 other companies do.

I just finished a review of the Darton Serpent for Crossbow Magazine and I'll have to ask, why aren't more folks shooting Darton crossbows? This crossbow was really impressive. It was the first Darton I have ever shot, not to mention spending a week shooting one and I really hated to pack it up and send it back after the test. The review should be popping up on the product review page any time now.

Darton should be finding a way to get some exposure for these crossbows. BTW, that gray barrel, stirrup, cams and trigger housing look nice on the camo model. Don't walk too far away from it in the woods, you'll lose it! :P  Very nice crossbow!!

3 shots at 30 yards with the Serpent LTD. Used the bed rail of my truck to shoot off of.

I shot the Serpent yesterday and I enjoyed it. It was on my short list until yesterday as well.

Overall it's a very well put together bow. The biggest drawback for me was the overall weight. It was a tad heavy for my taste. It was pretty quiet as crossbows go. The trigger was a bit heavy for me as well. Overall, it's a nice crossbow.
