I was  going to drop some money on a new Target for my xbow, then decided to make my own...some guys gave me a few ideas and this is what ,i came up with....1 feed bag and a bunch of old clothes, man this thing is tough..I shot my buck commander at it and it was a beautiul thing..arrows only went 8 inches in and pulled out easy...i figured if it gets torn up.i'll just slip another bag over it and go on...Thunderbolt

Just make sure you cut out zippers and buttons.  They tear up points and arrows.

Yep, they work great..I made a small one 18x12-10in thick, tightly compacted that I keep in the back of my truck during hunting season for discharging my bow...Cheap and easy to make..

You guys have figured out what we have been selling since 1995.  The only difference is our cover for your rags will not wear out and is easy to fill as it has a velcro top and the corners are folded over and sewn for easy hanging. www.bagtarget.com  Checkd it out it could save ya a lot of time.

I save the bags (burlap) whenever I buy two bushels of oysters when I have an oyster roast. Seems to last a little longer than the feed sacks. Just remember to rinse them out well or your hands will smell like oysters over the summer.

He's right. I have one and I've been trying to destroy it but haven't got very far yet. I've tried feed bags and they get breakdown pretty fast. Pretty cheap too!

I lined my new bag with some of that heavy industrial felt they use to make paper with. Fold it to make a "U" shape and put your rags and old clothes in the middle. That felt will take alot of hits before it wears out.Don't use just the felt by itself or you'll give yourself a hernia pulling your arrows out. :startle:

I have made a couple like this and they are great.  Just make sure you take them inside after shooting. I took one to the deer lease and left it hanging on a fence. When I came back a week or so later the outer bag was very brittle and was disentegrating.  I think UV light decomposes the bags. Maybe  feed bag manufacturers do this on purpose so the bags will decompose faster or something.  My next one will have burlap or canvas on the outside.

Trying something ,i took the stuffing out of my BM180 target(wouldn`t stop my arrows any way) and took two squares of carpet with the backs of the carpet facing out and put just enough glue on the face side to hold the two together and packed the clothes behind the carpet in the bag.The carpet was placed next to the side of the bag i will be shooting. This will hold the arrow straight when you shoot the target. The arrows want drop down and the clothes will stop the arrow.
