How many new states have we added to the list already for full inclusion of crossbows into archery season for 2011?

I think MI, NY, and NE have voted it in already.  Is this correct?

Yea, TX and Oklahoma had them for the 2010 season already.  I'm just curious who has voted it in new for 2011.

Don't forget Pennsylvania (2009).

And, since I know the anti-crossbow people monitor this site, I'll add the names of two states that are soon to be added to the list where crossbows will be allowed during any season where other archery equipment is permitted, specifically: Indiana and WISCONSIN!

There is another midwest state that has been seriously rumored to get on the crossbow train too. When that domino falls they will all fall. ;)

New for 2011 will be Florida on private lands and Nebraska wide open for everybody. NY has also added crossbows to the gun season for 2011.

KS is now knocking at the door as well. HB 2295 if passed will allow expanded crossbow usage!

I found this regarding KS:

http://blogs.kansas....ve-happenings/#

Doesn't look good for crossbows, the article states KDWP is expected to oppose all aspects of the bill.

Saw some discussion on another forum and apparently the crossbow bill does have a chance of passing in KS!!

Just because the commission and KDWP do not support this does not mean death for the bill.  So long as the legislature approves it, then the bill passes and it appears it actually has some support and a decent chance of passing!

At this point in California you can use a crossbow for non-archery seasons or during the archery season with a disability permit. It is better than nothing by far. I recently contacted a DFG representative on another forum who said that they were not considering expanding the use of crossbows in California at this time.

New York is on a trial basis only untill 2012, at which time a decision is supposed to be made as weather to keep the xbow or drop it alltogether. The xbow can only be used durning the regular firearms season of 2011 & 2012. Everyone must be certified in it's use before being allowed to hunt with it.

Rather than look at states, both old and new, who allow crossbows during full archery season, what about a list of those that still haven't stepped up and included them??

There has to be some sort of "registry" out there - even if only on the Internet - that lists those states which still do not allow crossbows as hunting tools.

NY is only a trial basis? This is the first I've heard this! This needs to remain legal here in NY. I've waited too long for this to be legal to lose it! Everyone in NY needs to make sure our voices are heard and the keep this legal...
