Just curious if anyone has ever shot a Blob? They have one heck of a warranty on a couple of the models. I have heard these are great for the vertical bows, but am interested to hear how they are holding up to the heavy hitting crossbows.

Everything I have heard has been positive, other than some being quite ugly looking, I see no negatives. A one year shoot through warranty with field points or BROADHEADS with any type of bow is really saying something. Just be sure to read the qualifier. Says they have been around in the SE for around 20 years, someone here must have shot them?

Thanks for any information.

Also interested in on hands experience with this target. I shoot allum. arrows and am cocerned about hard arrow removal? They do have a nice warranty. Their not very portable (the bigger models) Prices aren't bad. Haven't really heard anything bad most that own them love them.

You won't be dissapointed with a blob. Bought mine used from a friend. It is amazing from any type of bow/arrow combination. I shoot my Excal Phoenix with alum and the penetration is about 5". They are heavy and are tough on pulling arrows, but i can live with that. It beats shooting through a target and messing up the fletching. I think their website is blobtargets.com. They list events they attend which have a better price than ordering. Personally, I don't think there is a better xbow target on the market. They will last for years.

My brother has an extra large blob target in his backyard that must be 10 to 15 years old now. Probably one of the first ever made. We have been shooting fieldpoints and broadheads into it with trad bows and compounds as long as he has owned it and it is still going strong. Just shoot it out a little on one side and then roll it over.

As for portable, forget it. It probably weighs near 150 lbs. I now have a crossbow coming and will be shooting it with it also.

robertyb,

Thanks for the information, this is what I have been looking for. Does your brother leave it out in the weather? Just wondering whether it holds up well to rain and sunlight? Does it repel water or absorb it like a sponge? I have the Spyderweb and RhinoBlock, but I am looking for something that can stand up to the elements. Thanks for any additional information.

Yep. It has been in his backyard uncovered since the day he bought it. They are tough. I have never noticed it being waterlogged but then again I have never shot it in the rain either.

Thanks. Sounds like a target I can put out behind the barn and shoot anytime. The weight of them would make it a pain to move in and out each time you wanted to use it. Would have to mount a set of wheels to it. I think I see one of these in my future. If it holds up to my Scorpyd 165 with 160 LBS of KE, it will hold up to anything.

I leave mine in the backyard. Don't think the uv rays have much of an impact on it though. After a rain the arrows come out wet but no problem. Instead of moving the target to prevent getting wet, just cover it with a cheap tarp.

Where in Georgia can I get one of these targets?
I live in Alabama and would like to drive over and get one , but don't know where, how much, or who to get with.
My crossbow will be here in a week and would love to have a good target.

I just got a Blob 2.5 from American Whitetail Targets. It is heavy but boy does it work!! Stops arrows from my SZ380 with no problem. Shooting a Slick Trick tipped Laser II, they penetrate about 6 inches. Arrow pull is,nt real easy but have,nt needed a puller yet. IMO, great target.
God made the seventh day for rest. The other six are for hunting!
