That is tiger strip maple. That is a very good piece of wood. Hard to find. Zebra wood is a little to heavy to make a whole stock out of.

Bugs stock is getting a Permalyn sealer on it. I really like it because first it penitrates the wood deeply. I apply until it will not take anymore and then wet sand all the way to 1200grit.When its finished it is SEALED and most all of the finish is in the wood so there is no covering up of the grain. If a person wants a stained wood I use Tru-oil. Can't use the Permalyn sealer because when you wet sand a person goes through the stain to easily. With the Tru-oil you apply coats over the stained finish but do not wet sand so the stain stays. My favorite is the Permalyn but the process is long and drawn out.

MY hero, I am very rank ameture wood woodworker. now that you know I worship you work, shall risk insulting with a question! wood looks natural grain, but, since I am amature and just a novice, would you hate me if I tried to simulate the grain?
by wraping either, cord, twine or even wire and flame with a torch? after I glue a custom shaped Monte carlo comb of PINE
I have a custom made .257 roberts with a birrd's eye maple
After I finish with my first million, shall buy the real stuff, Sexotic wood and try it for a crossbow!
There is a true and real need for a man with your talents, please be sure to pass on your skills to a son, daughter, grands, nephew etc or a worthy apprentice
Another real need for this sport is 'aftermarket limbs'
Sincerely, Leo Roderick Guajardo, 11 in Dallas

Sir;
They go for 40.00 to 80.00 and on rare occasion if you want something really special 200.00 and up, The higher priced one I would consider just for display. The bugs build along is a Black walnut and cost 45.00. If it had more tiger strip in it, it would cost more like 80.00. I have blanks in stock and also sell starter blanks for the do it yourselfers. There is also laminates to go with that cost around 150.00. Most all stocks blanks are in the 40.00 to 80.00 range. Now you see why I have to have a seperate price for blanks because its so varied. Thanks for the interest. Aging
