I swear by the b50 for all of my recurvs. 32 strands and pre stretched before serving on my Excal, forgiving like a rubberband.

Hi there SEMPERFI 1970
you seem to have alot of strands ? (32)
You must have big poundage limbs. Like your idea on pre stretch before serving. Yes I agree (B50/dacron) at the moment seems to be good.
I was just trying to improve on what I have and to see what others use
Thanks for your imput.

I have found that 32 strands after serving puts the center of the string even with the center of the nock. I figure its better to push from the center vs the bottom of the nock.

Yes that makes senes
. I was just thinking less strands more speed But your right about the center of nock Thanks for reply
Was told by (none other than Boo) that fewer strands isn't what affects speed it's the WEIGHT of the string that affects speed.
32 strands my formula too, also stretch my strings prior to serving, plus unwind them to the point that they will still stay together (Flemish) then serve in the direction that the string will be wound so that the serving tightens even more when th string is rewound.
