Excalibur shows you how to un-cock your bow without shooting, as do a few other companies.

I have a Tenpoint Titan with accudraw and I think they say you must shoot an arrow to unload it. I'll check the manual again but I'm pretty sure thats correct.

Thank you to the moderators. You are doing such a fine job. Have a Merry Christmas everyone.

I have read some very good posts about this invention. This is good for the crossbow world. And as some have said, this is a very good thing for those to try out crossbows inside and in areas where unloading could be hazardous to some bystander. I noticed this while putting my hands on a few just a few days ago. Being a newbie to the crossbow, I would have loved to try the trigger mechanism before making my mind up as to which to buy. I also would have liked for someone to show me how to properly load the bow.

I have since ordered a Parker Cyclone. Would have loved to have pulled the trigger before purchasing. Just had to take others word for it. And we know that there are a lot of people whom we do not want to just take their word for it, even if we know them. We/I want to try it for myself before I spend $400.00 - $800.00 - $1400.00 on a crossbow. The crossbows are very expensive, to expensive I think. Just as are other tools of the trade, compound bows,rifles,muzzle-loaders.

I wouldn't buy it as I have an Excal, But I see this uncocker becoming popular with retailers and shooting clubs. Once the price drops this will sell.

Glad to see some research going into a decocker. It's not convenient for me to haul a target with me hunting (i drive a corolla), along with all my other gear. Although I suppose I could leave it cocked until I got home and then shoot it into a target. But I would much prefer to not drive with it cocked in it's case.

Agreed a little pricey for the average consumer. Will be great for dealers.

Will be interesting to see how this one plays out. Like who else will be entering the "decocking" market?

Not for me in the least.  I much rather walk to my truck and discharge an arrow at a target in my truck.

But I can see some archery shops who can benefit from it MAYBE!!

But atleast people are thinking about such things which is a good thing.  :goodjob:

Just an FYI Kodabow does have a method and reccomends it for those that want to decock their Kodabow. Yes its also a string decocker safe and effective and uses no fake arrow because thats not needed they have an ADF lever that will over ride that functon. Heres a video if anyone is interested.

You are correct that that Kodabow can be decocked, it very similar to an Excalibur, where they are both horizontal recurves as opposed to a bow with cams. The kinteic energy released is vastly different between recurves and cammed bows. Having said that, those types without cams require less strength to decock. Thanks for reading, Happy Holidays.

**LauGHinG at SeLf**  When I first started to watch the video I thought it was going to be a gag!!  The decocker device looked Rube Goldberg.  Was going to suggest the southern border "decocking" technique.  I used to work for U.S. Customs on the border with Mexico.  Every year we'd have cars coming across with bullets embedded in them which appeared to have come from directly above!!  New Years  -and maybe Cinco de Mayo-   some Mexicans fire their guns straight up into the air in celebration!  Those bullets gotta land SOMEwhere!! yIKeS! Yet I neVer saw a car with a crossbow bolt embedded in it.  Crossbows must not be as popular south of the border....

Kids, do NOT try this at home....

I can, all joking aside, see uses for a decocking device, and this one seems to work.  I, personally, wouldn't need it with my Middleton!

First time I saw this one but I can do what he did with my cocking rope on my Excal with no problem at all. No second rope needed. And I decock with a arm that has a bone spur and a torn rotator cuff in the shoulder. Got to have an operation soon.

I will stick to the excals.
