Just bought a product called the treestandup.  Had seen these before, and the idea looked pretty good, so I figured I'd try one.  This is for putting up ladder stands...which, if you've ever done one, can be a royal pain.  Basically, it's a hinged metal box, with a spike to drive it into the ground.  You slide the box over the end of the ladder stand, drive the spikes into the ground, and walk the stand up.  Their website has a pretty good demo video on it.  I've tried with with my 15 foot basic ladders, and it works great.  It frees you up from needing help to stand the ladder up.  Here's a link:

After my dad got one of those 2 1/2 man 18 foot ladders two seasons ago, I've started using the climbing stand and a cordless drill to climb tree and screwing in a heavy eye bolt a foot or two higher from the ground than the top of the ladder and running a rope through it.  Once one end is tied to the tree side of the stand, even one of the big ladder stands can be handled by one guy, especially if an ATV with a winch that has a hand-held remote is available.  Just be sure to remove the eye bolt if on a lease or public land.

Had similar ideas myself....but carrying the climber in...along with the ladder stand...was way too cumbersome.....I'm not sure how this thing will work with a larger stand like the one you mentioned...but it works as advertised with the little (15 ft) ones...

I have 3 ladder stands.  At the bottom of the ladder about 1" up I drilled a 3/8" hole through the rails from left to right. I took a 12" by 1/4" steel rod, and put it through the hole and bent them into a u shape. Lay the ladder down at the bottom of the tree where you want the feet of the ladder to be. Shove the u bolts into the ground with your foot.  The U bolts now become a hinge and you can easily raise the ladder by yourself.

Sounds like an idea which will become a product?

Briarpatch;  It would be easy for the treestand manufacturers to just put it on their stands.  It wouldn't cost them $5 to do and would make them much easier to put them up.

I used this product last season to put up both a one man and a two man ladder stand...it worked very well and trust me, that two man stand by myself, without this product, would have been impossible...

I agree! I just put up 3 stands last weekend and the last one was a 2 man stand 20 foot up! If not for the treestand up, that stand would still be in my backyard!

I just got one with the winch included. Had tried to raise a 21' Millenium with the base of the ladder secured to the ground with a homemade device. When the top of the stand was about 8' off the ground, it decided to get heavy and it was not going any higher. Now, I can get the stand up, and down, by myself.

Yes, it is sold as a complete kit. "30-06 Outdoors" makes 'em...called Ladder Stand 2nd Man. Winch is like a boat trailer winch with a 25' strap. I think they have a video on their web site.

I friend of mine, had that set up.  He bent his stand over,  and called them.  They said to put a 2x4 to get the stand up 3 ft before winching!   90 bucks!

Its nice to have some help with ladder stands, especially if you are alone. I wanted to try something too and I bought the Ladderstand 2nd man. It worked......However, not like in the movies. The wench strap srtethes when you're bring up the ladderstand and you have to retighten it before you get the tree stand up. I setup up a 18' Buck Buster ladderstand last week by myself. The Buck Buster has a truss system and does not lay down flat on the ground. When I put it up, I put the pegs in and let them stick up just enough for the ladder legs to slide under it. I had to put force with my foot on the bottom ladder to keep it down. I got it up and you can cinch it in tight to the tree so it makes it a little safer to climb and put your fastening strap around the tree. I plan on doing some changes to it so it will work a little easier next time. I can see where a 22' ladder stand will bend if you use it. It might work if you can use 2 people and have one wench while the other walks it up, it might work that way without using a 2x4.
Thanks for sharing your experience with the Treestandup.

The millenium stand has a double rail ladder and won't flex. It was not $90, it was $57 shipped when I got it from Amazon.
