I made my target out of old clothes stuffed tightly inside of 2 50 pound feed bags I think that is your best bet if you want to make your own target. you cant shoot broadheads at it but it works great for field points ,I can pull my arrows out with 2 fingers.

I used piece of clothes put into the 3 layers bag , press it and seal.
This bag used for field point only.

For a backstop I use a 3'x4' 5/8 plywood with 1/2" conveyor belting screwed on it. Better to be safe
than sorry. For targets I use a rag bag like above for field points and a Rhinehart 18/1
for broad heads.Dont forget to cut a handle in the plywood!
Happy shootin,
Hank

For my homemade target I used a stack of suspended ceiling tiles. Target size is 4' X 4' tiles compress between a 2x6 top and bottom with a 3/8" redi rod to hold them together. No problem stopping arrow
. Only problem is weight and you can't leave them in the rain
. Next reno I do I'am going to try the carpet target.
