I don't know if Mike Riesterer has posted anything here but I thought you guys would appreciate seeing my custom stock that he made.

That's some really nice craftmanship. Really Beautuful.

My first thought was about the weight. How much weight did it add to your bow, if any?

What kind of wood is that?

Rick;
  The black walnut and maple are about the same as a factory stock. The laminates are heavier. It depends to on where in the tree the blank comes from. Boo's is more towards the center and would be heavier than one that came from the outer edge of the tree. That why Dons is so dark and the tiger stripes are a bonus. With the wood stocks I would not worry about wieght. It makes your crossbow quieter and warmer to the touch for late season. Plus the wood is God awfully g-o-o-d lookin. :thumbsu:

You got that right!

I think I would be nervous about using it to hunt with, I would hate to see it get marked up. I really like the tiger stripes.
I admire your craftsmanship, you have a gift that most of us can only dream about.

  The nice part about not having any stain on it is if you nick it you just sand the nick out and apply the finish and it blends right in. With stain you would have to sand the whole stock down to bare wood and go again. :thumbsu:

Beautiful! Looks like a well thought out design. Did you take measurements for length of pull, comb height, etc? Or was it done from scratch? Either way it looks very well-fitted to the trigger, scope, etc. Nice job.

Yes. Don gave to me all the things he was looking for in a stock and I went from there. There are a lot of questions before moving forward with one. Its truly a custom made stock.

The stock fits me like a glove. A very cool thing about the stock was that Mike did a build-a-long thread. I got to watch it get make from scratch.
Mike, the folks here may appreciate a build-a-long thread too!

That could be arranged. After the deer season when things calm down would be best for me. Does anyone here want it to be their? I am talking around the first of the year and a stock takes around a month and a half to build depending on what the customer wants. Think about.  Aging.
