If the Serpent is like the rest of the Darton lineup, they should outlast most any other crossbow with a barrel/track. The Recon/Vision is also fairly light, but my old Fireforce has had well over 300 ( I stopped counting..) shots and the serving still looks new.
The three that I have, have very light string to track load. Though some seem to have had some problems with the serving seperating at the cams. I have not.
