I went to my local archery shop and asked questions as I'm a neebie to the sport about broadheads for my crossbow. They suggested I use a 3 blade head that also works on with a regular bow.. Is this okay or does it have to say crossbow on the package? Sorry for the basic questions, but I want to it get right. Thanks for any advice.

No, it does not have to say crossbow on the package.
There are many broadheads that will perform
excellent in crossbows, both fixed and mechanical that are not crossbow specific.

Typical generic response!
Do you want to shoot fixed or mech. heads? If you want to use fixed blades how fast is your bow? The faster you shoot the more the larger surface fixed blades will plane on you.
To answer your question no you don't have to use x-bow specific heads...regular spitfire's shoot well out of my bow's.
Good heads to choose from in my opinion...mech.- spitfire's/grim reaper's, fixed- slick trick's.
Hope this helps
Good luck!

Well...since we're talkin' broadheads.......got to throw in my rant about Grim Reapers....my signature shows what I use....in fairness...never shot standard Grim Reapers from the crossbow.....so...can't say how they work....but these things....rock...

and now...the sales pitch (you just knew you were getting one of these)....

Today I tried out the, 125gr. Swacker. It flew just like a field tip out of my Horton Exp.150. Sept. 10th. I'll get to see what they will do to a whitetail. ..........I hope.

Anyone ever use the Muzzy 100gn? I have shot lots of deer with my bow and they have been tough.

Well, I got to see what a Swacker will do to a whitetail. Saturday, ''opening day'', I shot a fat 3pt. He was double lung shot but still went over 100yds. I think maybe I'll go back to the, RAGE, 125GR. 2 BLADE.

Try the Slick Trick Grizz Trick 2's. They are great for faster bows and long distances. Shoot just like a field point. Smoked a buck last week and he piled up 40 yards from where I shot him. Check out the entrance wound in the hunting section. I love them and won't be switchin anytime soon.
