Hi guys, as a follow up on the safety harness equipment I ordered on 7/30 from Mountaineer Sports in WV. I recieved a Email the product shipped on 8/01 UPS. Well on 8/05 I got the Lineman's Safety rope and, that was it shipped by the US postal service. Emails and phone calls since 8/05 have gone unanswered. I am in the process of denying the charges for this equipment. Too bad, I think the product had potential. If you plan on purchasing this equipment take precautions you might get it. I could have ordered it through Bass Pro but I felt the original company was a good bet. Maybe they are all on vacation somewhere, maybe not. Just real bad customer service.

What's the low-down on your situation with mountaineer. Did they get in touch with you. What's the outcome?

I had ordered on 7/30 and recieved today 8/17. They left a message on 8/14 that it shipped. I never got to speak to anyone and no E-mail. I think what really happened was the boat from China got in later than expected. I really like the setup looks. It's pretty well made for a China product. Maybe assembled there with someone else's materials. I'll let you now about the function when I put on my gear and travel down a tree. If you figure all safety vests have basically the same straps to go around you. The only difference is the rope portion that can possibly save your life. Mine already had the climbers rope in the cds2 package, so I can send the extra one back.

I'm glad you finally got it. If you wouldn't mind give me your opinion on it please. I really liked it and I feel safer with just the idea of what it can do and what it actually did in practicing. Maybe after hunting with it for a month we can compare likes and dislikes.

Will do this weekend if it's not a wash out.

As a follow up to the cds2 safety system. I got the chance to suit it up, climb a 10 foot ladder, strap it up and, lower myself to the ground four times. It works as advertised and, resetting the rope in the vest is pretty simple. I then put on all my hunting gear,cds2, and treestand on my back. As a guy that never used any safety gear, it does not restrict your movements and, if anything the rope portion of the vest makes the treestand to body contact more comfortable to carry. The buckle points have covers that slide over them so nothing shinny is exposed. I do wish the straps where camo, I would pay more for that. One thing I would like to see improved upon would be the tree strap. It works and, I know it can handle the weight, but I think it could be a little more heavy duty. As far as customer service, I haven't tried to contact them since the ten days I tried to. Maybe the doc was on a 2 week vacation or maybe they don't answer the phone or e-mails? Anyway I"m keeping it because it works as advertised and, I can't find another item that functions like this one. On a final note to hunters that haven't had the experience of suspending from a harness that can't get you to the ground. You only have a short period of time to get back in your stand or on the ground. The pressure put on your legs in a very short time IS LIFE THREATENING.
