the "rag bag"  by third hand archery assessories.

got one for try'n out for tha scouts.  its big, i think its around 32x34
we packed it full of old t-shirts, sheets and an old sleep'n bag (with zipper removed)
and anything else we could find to fill it up......weighs now about 30-35lbs
we shot it with every kinda +bow thats in this area... from 275-410fps  :thumbsu:
field tips only...... we have over 200 shots so far in it, and its holding up fine
in this picture these arrow speeds were 335fps and you can see how far they buried up at 20yrds !!
and they pulled out honestly with 2 fingers :thumbsu:

for someone thats look'n to get a good economical target for field tip use,
this makes the best one i've seen. and we have several kinds.
the price is around $21.95 i don't know if CN store has them.
might need to google it.

thanks

I've seen these bags on Utube, they are claimed to be almost indestructible. Two finger arrow removal is a big plus. The owner of the company is a CN member. The scouts will appreciated this bag and I'm sure it will be used to it's fullest extent.

By the way, how did you make out with American Whitetail?

I have 2 of them and they hold up great. If you shoot a lot into one spot occasionally you have to mix the rags up. But other than that AAA+++.

I like the idea that if you can wear it out you get one free lol. I will have to pick up the bag before I finish the purchase of my crossbow (it's on lay away). Do you make a smaller version as a discharge target?

jim. have you ever thought of making the "rag-bag" any smaller ??
if you could make a 14"x 14" square target, simular to the original one... i bet you could move it for the same price !!! it would be great for us hunters to discharge into and carry as portable target
let me know if you will make any special order...
thanks

Gendoc:  We need to buy 5000 at a time to get them custom made targets.   We can only afford to carry one at this time.  I will give you a great idea for a discharge target.  I call it my bucket seat target.  Take a 5 gallon bucket and cut the lid out leaving the ring only for a lid.  Now fill the bucket with old clothes.  Streatch a towel across the top and then put the ring back.  duck tape the ring to the bucket.  Now you have a camp site seat, and if you shoot thru the lid you have a portable discharge target.  Sweet!1!!!!!!

Thats a great idea, I never thought of cutting them into smaller pieces. I've been trying to think of what I could use for a small, portable and cheap discharge target, shooting into the ground just doesn't sit right with me.

Thanks for the idea.

I made one out of a extra thick cardboard box that my meat came in from the possessor. The lid is three layer thick.I filled with old t-shirts and a moving blanket. I strapped the lid shut with some nylon straps on each side.Slide them off for easy access to inside. When shooting zone gets  worn out I slide a new piece of cardboard in between the straps works great with field points.I have not shot it with broad heads yet.I might replace the front with a piece of carpet in between straps for that.

I would think to cut and sew it back together you would have to have a industrial size sewing maching as the material is very tough and thick!! I too would like a 14" X 14" one to through in the truck. I bet he could sell a bunch of them!!
