Do you guys and girls do most of your hunting out of a treestand, ground blind or a Gille suit(sp?) I enjoy hunting from the ground, but the tree stand offers some advantages.  If you use a ground blind or suit, What Kind?

I hunt from ground blinds mostly for now, I use Yukon ground blinds aka River's Edge aka  Barronett now. I also have and will use my Big Game and Remmington ladder stands when I'm medically cleard by the boss! My personal favorite is definately ladder stands, so much more to look at and watch when hunting isn't that good ;)

For me it depends on where I am hunting...If I can use a tree stand I perfer it.  Otherwise I use a ground blind.
Be safe and enjoy!

I used to hunt from a tree stand but after the bottom of my climber dropped out from under me at about 15 feet up and the 12 ft ladder stand became too much to move, I went to hunting from a blind. Then Hunting from a blind became a hassle moving it all over the place. So I went exclusively to hunting using a gillie type outfit it's called Outline Buster Blind made by Quaker Boy. It's just easier for me because I move around allot from one place to another. I just find a tree to set up against and I'm ready to hunt. I also do allot of spot and stalk, I will admit I don't kill allot of deer this way. But I enjoy it and that's whats it's about right? If one of my boys go's with me I'll hunt from natural cover, we had a big ice storm a couple of years back and there are allot of tree tops on the ground to hide in.

I have a climber i haven't used in 3 years at least but i might. I have a Ghillie poncho i might have used 2 or 3 times last year. I have 2 ladder stands i hunt from time to time.
I have 2 pop ups i hunt when the weather is poor.Or when the skeeters are about.
A good bit of the time i just back up in a brush pile and set in a small chair. Watch the wind and set still.

I've shot a lot more deer from an elevated stand than anything else.  I hunted out of lock-on stands for a long time, but losing them to theft and their lack of comfort pushed me toward using a climbing stand.  I normally hang the stand one afternoon and hunt from it that evening, then lock it to the tree and hunt from it the next morning.  It goes with me when I leave.

We have a few tripod stands at the lease that work well early on in the season, but deer shy away from them once  the shooting starts and activity levels around them picks up.

Speck, we have the good fortune of setting up different situations for hunting throughout our lease. We have tri-pods, pop-ups and ground blinds at different locations on our lease. Some set for bow shots some for rifle. We have a ghillie style leafy suit we got at cabela's, a Scent Lok leafy suit and well as traditional camo and camo rainsuit. Different conditions and where we hunt call for different camo wear. We try not to hunt the same spot but change locations morning and evening depending on wind. We have 7 feeders but several additional spots where we know deer travel we can sit in ground blinds. In ground blinds we usually wear the leafy ghellie style to blend in. In the tree stand we use the camo that best blends into the trees. I do know when we check the wind and choose a spot, once in the stand or blind the wind can change, especially in Texas. We do what we can to eliminate scent.

We have no trees here in the Oklahoma panhandle and I used ground blinds last year but it made too large a silhouette so I decided to try something this year and use a layout blind for goose hunting with the pop open doors to completely conceal me at ground level.  I bought it in a khaki brown color because here we have tall crp native grass to camouflage me and the blind and everything here is tan and brown rather than any greens.

I do all above...Mostly stand hunting...but when the rut comes on and the deer are just not comming past the stand and their chasing in my corn fields..i'll get in my Gillie suit and sit in the water ditches around my field and try to get a shot off...while useing a bipod on my xbow..sometimes you have change it up...depends on food source and what the deer are doing...Thunderbolt

Well, I hunt from a tree stand with a blind wrapped around it while wearing a ghillie leaf suit.  So the answer to your question is YES!

I do 90% of my deer hunting from treestands and 10% from my two Double Bull blinds. For Turkey I hunt off the ground 80% of the time in camo and spend the 20% in one of my blinds. 95% of my turkey kills come from running and gunning.

Only one year under my belt hunting with an XBow, but many, many, years hunting with a rifle. I've always hunted from a ground blind of some kind, be it a natural blind of logs etc., with a rifle and do the same with my XBow. I've got a Primos Vision Blind that works real well for deer and turkey with my XBow. I don't shoot most of the deer I see, and with just watching most of them, the ground blind works the best for me.

Well since last year when this man went up to my fatherinlaw which is losing his mind at 84,duped him into letting him hunt the farm that i have always hunted, but after asking around about him he's been slipping in there for years i have hunted from a summit climbing stand, the idiot has walked under me 5-6 times and never saw me,he has also been a constant pic on my game cameras, probably the reason i haven't seen many deer lately.

I bought a larger ground blind that will hold two hunters later on this past season. Great fun especially to share with a friend. Put a couple of comfortable chairs in it, which helps my back and can sit there now all day nice and comfy. Added a heater which helps a lot for the back as well. Plenty of room for cooler and what ever else you need. I use a tripod to rest the crossbow or gun on, which keeps them ready for action. The ground blind is large enough to stand up in and stretch a bit when necessary. I plan on using this ground blind next year for ground hog crossbow hunting, which should be a lot of fun. I used my .45 Springfield XDM with a leupold redot on groundhogs this past season and that was a light of fun, especially out 50 yards.

Mostly walk and stalk. Made a gillie top out of worn out fleece pants and a green hoody type t-shirt.
Will use blinds and tree stands when I get older.

H&S,
I have the smaller run and gun Ghost blind... haven't used it yet, have you used yours? I don't own land so, tree stand would be a pain to put up and down each day... making myself a Ghillie suit, will post pic soon. You can buy a complete Ghillie suit kit to make you own. Found mine on line at Ghillie Suits.com Inc. I ordered the synthetic materials... just google Making a Ghillie suit, should find these people. It is time consuming to make your own, but FUN!
