To all,

Urban Legend...Being the cool host that he is was gracious enough to allow  me to host a new room. The new room is titled "Outdoor Politics". Not to  be confused with regular politics. In this room everyone is welcome to  discuss issues that impact us all as sportsmen and women. Hunting,  fishing, wildlife and forestry issues that require the attention of  others. Let us know what is happening in your little piece of the globe.  Keep tabs on those that oppose our usage of the outdoors.

We as hunters are typically apathetic to our political bodies and in most cases the opposition that  decides how we ultimately utilize our natural resources. Some of us wait for the  yearly rule book to be printed before we realize what is new/happening/changed. Some of us like myself choose to immerse  ourselves in the process and become a part of it on varying levels. Sadly, some of us don't pay much attention at all and allow others to  make up our minds for us.

This may be the room to convert the former and the latter into the middle group.

There will be sensitive subjects that we may disagree on. Things like:  Sunday hunting. Season dates and bag limits. To bait or not to bait.  Disease handling. Specific species to hunt or not to hunt. Weapons  limitations. Fishing regulations. Forestry issues and methods.  Environmental alerts. I.E. If you want people to know the ticks in your area  are carrying lyme disease? Then post it.  Or...How you feel about an animal rights group  preventing progress? We know they do this. Especially in an attempt to save some critter like a bat or minnow that no one has heard of...Well all of that fits in this new room.

With that said...The new forum is part of Crossbow Nation and all of  this board's rules apply.  You are welcome to debate issues until your  fingers bleed at the keyboard. Keep it family oriented and keep it  civil. No personal attacks, no foul language, no copyrighted material  etc etc. You all know the drill. I expect the room to run itself.

To Urban Legend,

Thank You for providing us with this invaluable communication resource. I am convinced that when sportsmen and women have access to the information they will become part of the process beyond the hunt. Assume the role of rightful stewards of the land. Communication is critical in that aspect and you have provided a forum for that to take place in. It certainly is the first step towards the complete eradication of apathy. I believe you have flicked the proverbial domino. I for one can't wait to see what sprouts from the seed you have planted here. I am enthusiastic but history never affords me solace. Maybe that will change thanks to your efforts.

Ah, an idealist. Ok, I'll put pen to paper and contact my congressman. But I will talk to God tonight, just in case.
