After owning several different brands of compound crossbows I have gone back to the Excalibur line with the Phoenix crossbow.  I have the newer stock in which it is already threaded for the screw to hold the cheek piece accessory in place.  I haven't been able to handle any of the Excalibur's that already have one attached so I can't see for myself if it is worth the money.  One guy told me he didn't like it because he felt it offset his face too much to align up with the scope but that is the only opinion I've gotten.  Anyone on Crossbow Nation using one or have used one that can give me some positive or negative input?  I've owned crossbows that have stocks like my Excal and I've also owned those with molded stocks that felt pretty good although they didn't appear to stick out as far as the photo's I've seen of the Excal accessory.  Any opinion would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Bodoodle

I have one on my Nox.I have no problems what so ever alighning my Cheek, Cheek Piece and Scope.Without the cheek piece,I was down way to deep onto the stock. The Cheek piece is way more comfortable and consistent for me.If you decide to go with one in the future, contact me...as I have a New Extra one.I'll give you a good deal on it.Dont need Two.

I have em on both my Phoenix and Vortex. Really helps with MY eye/scope alighnment. Often felt like I was searching for a good sight picture before, no more.

I shot my Vortex for a short time without the cheek piece and was "hunting" for the image in the scope. I now have one on it and it's so much easier and faster to get the proper eye alignment

Just put one on my new Phoenix.....what a difference!!!  Perfect alignment !!  I had shouldered this bow at a Shop some time ago,and did NOT like the time it took to get a good picture in the scope.  On the other hand, all heads, eyes, etc, were not created the same, and I can understand someone not liking it.
I would not go without it.  Hope this helps....and hope you can go to a Shop and "See" the difference.  Pardon the pun, I just couldn't help it.

Thanks to all for your responses.  I've been meaning to update my thread to say that I did add the cheekpiece and it is really great.  I also added some camo stick on felt to it to make it a little warmer since I bow hunt the entire hunting season and do hunt some days in the teens and twenties.

I also just picked up an older Exomag 200 and wish the stock was made for the cheekpiece.

Hey Georgiaboy, where bouts are you located.  I currently live in Virginia but Georgia is where I grew up and is my home.  I'm from Richmond County right next to Augusta.

Cool Georgiaboy.  I lived in Fort Stewart with my mom & dad in 1959 & 1960 before we left for Germany due to my father being deployed there.  I remember the housing had flat roofs and there was a tank at the entrance with it's gun turret aimed at you as you drove in.  Is it still the same?

The tank is still there but the housing has been upgraded. They built apartment homes that look like small communities...about time they do something right for the common soldier.  :goodjob:
