Hello all!

First and foremost, I would like to say I hope you all are having a safe and memorable hunting season. Okay so I live in one of five states that does not allow scopes, dots or any type of electronic devices attached to or shot from a crossbow during archery season only. Colorado is my home and stomping grounds. I have earned the privalege to use a crossbow during archery season. This year would have been my first attempt at it. I've hunted vertical for almost thirty years. As I waited for the arrival of my brand new 2011 Barnett Penetrator, I was blind sided by this red tape aiming device issue. Some kind gentleman PM'd me here on CBN with an ad for Bad River Outdoors killer web page on open peep sights for bow and crossbows. I was floored. I called the company and to my surprise the CEO Ed, answered the phone and gave me the rundown on how this order will play out. Apparently, BRO has not had the priveledge of installing thier pattented Open Front/Rear Peep Sight on an upper end Barnett or should I say a Barnett crossbow that possesses the "shoot thru stirrup." So in acccordance, xbows have to be shipped to the company in Hemlock, MI in order for them to fabricate and attach this cutting edge sight. I rolled the dice and shipped it over. Here are the pics of a job well done...

You'll notice that the sight is set at 30yds to 60yds. If you,ve shot vertical than you know that if you space the dot properly, 70yds is dead on! Here are some pics of how it shot at the 30, 40 and 50yd distances.

Here is the 30yd shot at a 1" square. About an 1" high

Here is the 40yd shot at a 1" square. Dead on!

Here is the 50yd poke at a 1" square. About a half inch to the left.

Not bad in my opinion. I know I got some work to do, but who does'nt? If you're serious about getting one for say just a back up site I'd say go for it! Roll the dice and give 'em a call. These guys will treat you well!

Looks great and shoots better. Too bad Colorado is still in the "dark ages" as to the fastest growing hunting segment (crossbows). By the way, who made your lighted nocks?

Ya know, I reckon during archery season only, the D.O.W just wants to keep it at a fair chase leveling field. I know that during rifle seasons, crossbows are an option and scopes, dots the whole gammut is legal in that arena. I believe the nocks are Burt Coyotes half moon crossbows.
