I haven't seen alot of post about the Excal S5 systems. Are they working out well? Are the bumpers lasting? How much of a improvement are they making?

After 7 pads? Does it eat them up fast?

A little quieter, but It did take some of the "thang" out of the Axiom.

I've only shot mine with them installed, but I have a buddy who doesn't have them (Same X-Bow) and I think it makes it just little quieter,(not much) but there's not that resident "Twang" sound after.  The sound duration isn't as long, if that makes sense.  I also have my brace height slightly off (1/16"-1/8") them too. I think that helps with there durability too.

Mine came yesterday. Put them on last night, and shot some today. A little quieter, less shock and vibration. And, my sights only changed slightly, for the better. Now instead of my 40 hitting 2" high, and my 50 hitting 3" high, 20, 30, 40, are all dead on, and 50 is only 1 1/2" high. I do not have them touch the string at rest, but have about 1/32" gap. I also added a quiver, so now my Exomax looks really good. The only other thing she needs is the stock extender.

If you went from 2'' hi at 40 to dead on they must have slowed your bow down...  Has anybody chrografed before and after with the S-5 ???    Ron

I think it did slow down a touch. I don't think the deer will notice... I have not chronographed the difference, but I think it is minute. I already dropped some speed for heavier arrows this year. Went from GT lazer II, to the lazer III. Being able to watch my arrow through the shot is a big deal for me, and this took enough shock out of the shot for me to do that.

Good topic, ron dog!  These string stop pads have sure been trendy for the last 4 or 5 years.  I'm rather particular about what I'll put on my crossbows as far as do-dads that do little or nothing.  Actually there is no such thing as a do-dad that does nothing.  At the very least they'll get in my way and add weight to my crossbow.

I'm all for accessories that perform a function and perform it well.  Accessories that barely make any difference...not so much.

I'd rather keep my money in my pocket!

I don't know if I had any sighting differences in mine. I put them on and the bolt cutters at the same time, so some adjustments was there, but not much at all, from field points. I think I raised it one click.

I put them on my Vortex, didn't seem to do much for quiet, did take some vibration out. The bow shot the same without and with the suppressors as far as POI in the target. I did have to drill one mounting hole out to install the system. I also backed the string off the rubber pads, couldn't tell if the brace changed with string stretch if not backed off a little. Someone posted that the S5 helped to stop limb damage in case of a dry fire, anyone else read that or know if it's true? I also turn the rubber stops to help equalize the wear, they turn quite easy.

I've dryfired my Equinox 7 times because of people related distractions. :thumbsd:  Other than throwing the string 10 yards in front of me, no damage at all with the S5. I'd say it was worth every penny. Gotta love Excals. :thumbsu:

I just installed the S5 on my Axiom. Well worth the money IMO.
It was a little quieter, vibration and string twang was much improved.
No change in POI.

From the center of the bolt hole to rubber edge = 3 3/16"

had an original STS then bought a few s-5s. it smooths ot the shock but not enough to keep that extra weight and mass on my xbows. i think the dry-fire unit is a better option if your worried about limb damage fron dry fires.
