Well..the day started out with me getting to the stand late...I hunted hard on Friday only to see one buck out of range...I've been hunting this big 10 pointer and hav'nt see him in a few days and told myself any legal deer would be put in the freezer today...got out of the stand to get a bite to eat cutting up the grassy areas between the corn fields only to see this deer only 10 yards from me and the wind blowing out of the north..i had to get an arrow out fast cause i was too close for this deer not to blow out of the county and my arrows were in my backpack which ,i carried on my back..this deer never seen me...i even put the range finder out 10 yards from me...slowly got an arrow out and made the shot clean threw the lungs,i just sat there thinking what the heck justed happened...of all the years,i've been bowhunting..never have i got that close to a deer on the ground,i just sat there amazed at what just happened...picked up the blood he never made it 30 yards...I sat down next to it just stunned patted it on the rump and said thankyou and thank god for the day...it's not the biggest deer, but its my deer and i'm happy with it...what a day it was,I'm still stunned about how close i got to it and it did'nt see me...he was swollen and stunk of rut...but i did'nt care...it was an awsome day....He's a nice 5 pointer weighted in at 130lbs..

This morning in the office I had a conversation with one of the guys I work with {city boy} and he was all wound up about this last weekends pro football and he couldn't believe that I don't watch it and think it's boring. He tips his head back and asked me what I did over the weekend to which I replied duck hunting with a little fishing thrown in between the flights, he scoffed.
Not sure how someone can think that sitting in thier living room watching someone else play a game on television can equate the two but whatever.
Nothing thrills me like hunting and especially deer hunting reguardless of how big the buck or doe is, congratulations on your hunt brother of the forest, Kev
