Just got a Weaver red dot, and couldn't be more pleased.  I've used Aimpoints previously and not having bought one in years was a bit shocked at current prices and decided to try the brand I grew up with, Weaver.  The first thing I noticed was the robust construction.  Thoughtfully laid out controls and dual sunshades.  The knobs operate very smoothly and have well defined movement when turned.  It has a choice of red or green dots, enough brightness levels, and a choice of 4 different dots.  It appears to be on a level with the Aimpoints as far as quality and as far as features for the money has them beat.  I'd definitely buy another and recommend them.
