This weekend, my wife took her son my stepson who is 10, to get him a full camo suit,so he could go hunting with me,The first time deer hunting with me, we got out to the woods an sat down beside the trees i sit in, a hour befor dark his eyes about jumped out of his head he seen something move,i was looking around an didnt see a thing moving, 15 min later here comes a buck with brokin horns, coming right at us, i`m whispering dont move, the buck is around 20 yards still walking towards us, an turns an walks right at us, i`m still saying dont move, 10 yards an still coming then he sees us an stops he really checks us out,I have him in the scope but the limb of the crossbow was right in Daniels face an i didnt want him the limb to smack him in the face, my luck something would happin sting or limb would break just somthing would happin an he`d get hurt, i let him go he walked right behind the tree`s we were sitting against i stood up an looked around the tree to get a shot an was face to face like only feet from eachother, what a shocker he bolted, i had to laugh about that, Sunday morning we went out sat in the same spot ,11 does come walking down the side of the creek coming our way no buck behind them, they walked right passed us 15 yards away, the last doe desides to turn an walk strait at us i`m saying dont move Daniel dont move, she gets with in 10 yards i had her in the scope an i looked over at Daniel an his eyes were as big as silver dollars i had to laugh in side  i was hoping she would come closer she stopped an was checking us out her head going up an down, stomping the ground an never looking at me just Daniel,I should have pulled the trigger but i wanted him to get a good tasted of seeing deer, she turned around an walked away wagging her tail , she got out of sight an i said what did you think of that, he took his face mask off an said why didnt you shoot???? i just said there was a tree in the way, he says thats what i call in your face!!!!!!!

I've let plenty of deer just walk and have never regretted it. Theres more to hunting than just pulling the trigger. While the meat is always welcome and tasty, memories last a little longer and your son will grow up all to fast. Sounds like a great day for you both! :thumbsu:  :goodjob:

I think you've just created a hunter for life. Bet he can't wait to go again and, again and, again.  I'm going to get my son some new suits today so, I can relate to your story.  It's what I would have exactly done.  The education process is the first step in building a safe successful hunter for life.  Great job Twisted.
