Firenock LLC should have the app in golden master and send to Apple and be on iTune store one week before Christmas.  The Bracket will be ready to purchase by ATA 2012. Correctional lens specification and available date will be announced at ATA 2012.

iBowSight (The Bow Sight for the iPhone Age)
iBowSight is an engineering masterpiece that combines industry leading metal fabrication, highest end electronics, customized software, bow hunting knowledge, and the next level of user interface all merged to form a solid performance video bow sight. iBowSight utilizes today’s highest performing smart phones, the iPhone 4 and/or iPhone 4S, coupled with an app that transforms an iPhone into a bow sight with capability that has never been seen. In a nut shell, iBowSight consists of four components: A bow sight mounting bracket, An iPhone, the iBowSight App, and a lens correction system. These four components are not only a cutting edge bow sight but can also take advantage of the iPhone’s video recording capabilities from within the iBowSight App. With future development possibilities are to have auto range finding, night vision, thermal imaging, and target acquisition with instant shooting solution features built on top of our current design platform.  The video will be recorded in 720p and 1080p when using the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S respectively.  In v1.0 of iBowSight, the following features are available:

• Sight ring can be size from 0.3” radius to an edge to edge radius of 2.1”
• Sight ring’s can have up to 2.6 millions colors of choice
• Sight ring can be micro adjust in an increment of 1/326”
• Each pin size can be adjust from 0.012” radius to 0.240” radius
• Each pin can have up to 2.6 millions colors of choice
• Each pin can have its own shape beside a standard dot. At version 1.0 there is a total of 9 shapes to start.
• One can add up to 7 pins to the sight
• There is built in digital zoom from 1.0X base on internal optics to 4.0X in an increment of 0.01X
• 3rd axis adjustment to accommodate the most demanding and complicated sight set up
• Built in water level for visual bow leveling
• Sight level confirmation via ring color choices. i.e. One can set the ring color to be green (color A) when leveled and red (color B) when the bow is tilted. Thus one can look at the ring color change instead of the water level to confirm if the bow is leveled.  This function is also tunable via sensitivity level (angles of degree)
• hand torque alert (when the bow sway beyond a certain degree) vibration alert can be activated
• One can have the option to set the sight into an automatic pendulum sight when the bow is dropped below 45 degrees. This feature allows the best of both worlds. In pendulum mode, the choice of sight pin shape and color is totally independent from the original pins. However the reference position of the pendulum sight is still base on the 20 yard pin. Therefore setting the pins in use are critical for the pendulum sight options to function properly
• up to 20,000 storable profiles, (each profile also bow, arrow, arrow length, point weight, and other parameters settings)
• Operational indicators (mini icons to show on active screen which optiions are active
• Adjustable Water bubble: via location, evaluation, color, visibility.

Is this like the tv commercial, people doing dumb things with smart phones? Just kidding, very creative. Way to advanced for folks like me. I bet the tech crowd will eat it up. Heck if a hunter gets bored not seing deer they can download the Cabelas big game hunting aplication and entertain themselves in the blind, me I just fall asleep.  :thumbsu:

Its folks like you that keep the shooting sports out of the stone age. Thats good for all of us. Thanks and keep up the creative work.

Impressive .... you have taken this technology to a nice place. I have utilized a Playsport Video camera on a Kodabow crossbow and recognized that the camera function (even in a crude way) provides the capability to establish a sight picture. Adjust the camera to impact point. Place target on the video screen. Shoot. Excuse the photo --- we hunt in all weather conditions.
I think marrying the Iphone app to the video piece in an exact manner is exceptional. The other alternative is having the software built into a pure dedicated video device. The key will likely be the light gathering capability of the lens system to permit hunting and shooting in low light conditions. For most hunters, dependence on this system will not be attractive vs. a non-electronic solution but we all must say well done.

Great idea! Tell me, IPhone will not break from the overload shot (weapon impact, vibration)?? The accuracy of sight does not change?

I have taken apart a few iPhone all the way to 4S, Every component in an iPhone are not just fastened, but also glued, that is why it feel so solid. As for the bracket, with 6061T6 and 7075T5, Aluminum construction, the bracket is +/-0.003" for the first 1500 insertion.  I think that should take care of the accuracy issue.  As for vibration, here will be Snow/rain/vibration boot for sale to cover the entire iPhone and the bracket so weather, and slight hit on the side will not cause major issue to the equipment.  Does that helped?

That's different and neat.  I would recommend placing the phone on airplane mode while hunting just so an ill-timed call doesn't interrupt a shot.  LOL  Is there a bracket for a crossbow?  To be quite honest, I'm not interested in replacing the crossbow scope just yet since my phone is too finicky for me to trust come shot time on a whitetail, but would like to have it offset for video purposes.  I've been thinking of a way to mount my phone to my trigger stick so that I can video (or even skype..haha) while turkey hunting with my shotgun, or use it with the crossbow.

I am very interested in trying this out if you get something going for a crossbow.  I use a PSE TAC 15 that has a good bit of arrow speed coming from it.  There is not a ton of vibration, even at 412 fps, as the limbs push straight out to the sides.  I think that this is a pretty great concept!  Lots of folks hate the TAC 15 for the speed and design of it, but I personally,  think it will be awesome to shoot with a 4S mounted to it.  Technology + technology = meat!

I love the Firenocks that display beautifully, heading down range. If the attention to detail that you put into the lighted nocks is an idea of what to expect from this "sight"... You folks will have another bullseye!  Killer concept!  ;-)

Wait till you see what v1.1 can do. Free updates to v1.5.  The pulses laser with auto pin target acquire system is going to be a fee update via in app purchase for software, and extra hardware purchase. Pulse laser with micro servo motor to distance ranging base on pin on screen. Sort of like M1's target acquisitation system but with a much faster and powerful computer, not to mention a much smaller package with on board video capability with gyro stabilization system.

I bet you do not think an iPhone can do all that. Wait till you see what I have plans for v2.0 next year.
