After breaking a Tru Fire Switchblade broad head, I decided I would try a different head. I know it's not the smartest thing to do mid season, but I did it anyway. I decided on the Trophy Ridge/Rocket Meatseeker. I chose the 3 blade 2 inch diameter model. I am glad I went this way.

This morning, I was fortunate enough to tag a 3rd deer with a crossbow this season. I had a doe come in about 25 yards and even though she was walking, I knew I could make the shot. She started plowing dirt and snow from the moment the arrow hit her. She went about 20 yards in a circle and ended up about 15 yards from my blind. And yes, I was on the ground when I shot her. This head made an absolutely devastating hole. The amazing thing was the lack of blood however. Luckily I didn't need to trail her since she was so close to my blind.

I have always been leery of heads that require an o ring or rubber band to keep them closed, but you don't know unless you try. After taking her and having her go basically no where, I have found my new broadhead. I know a lot of people that don't like mechanicals, but the result speaks for itself.

I like 'em too! I  also think that the three blade model is better than the two blade.
I shot one last year with the MS 3-blade, and have one up next for #3 this year.

Oh, and I almost never use the same style head on more than one per season. I like giving them all a whirl.
Thumbs up for the MeatSeeker 3-blade!

This is all good to hear as I just used some of my gift cards from my wife for Cabelas to pick up two packs of the 2" 3 blade version of the Meatseeker.

Offshorebandit very good to hear your story as I am also shooting a RDT 165.

Looking to wack a doe this winter with them and see for myself how they do.

I will report back with my finding I hope.
