Yap, as others have said. It is better to leave that alone and let them do there thing. Next thing you know, they will be over here venting their frustrations and so on. It is a lot like the CB radio communications. We stay on channel 23 here in my area. If someone comes by with a vulgar attitude and mouth, we just shut up and turn the radio off for about ten minutes and  the problem goes away. We will be more respected by keeping our opinions to our self's. Yes I believe in defending, but on our own turf, not theirs. We once had such a problem with a teenage CB rattle head, that we got in our mobiles and followed his signal until we found him and then proceeded to cut his coax cable. That problem ended after that warning.

The reason I started Crossbow Nation is so you don't have to deal with people like that.

Thank you very much Sir. :thumbsu:
I really like this site, and your attitude. We have to stand for what we believe in or we will fall for anything.

I make no excuses, I don't need to be old or injured to shoot a crossbow. I shoot a crossbow because it gives me the best chance to be successful, and I want to! if you don't like it tough sh*t!!! these type morons are the same one's that whine about Black Guns, and the assault weapon ban didn't bother them because it didn't affect them. they are the crack that the anti hunting and gun grabbers need to separate and try and conquer.(useful idiot's to the anti's) I kinda look at my crossbow like i said on my wedding night when my wife giggled and said who you gonna please with that and i replied ME! :ass:

Let me explain the odds here sparky, there's one of you and thousands of them. Now does the name Custer mean anything to you? LOL Now that I'm done kidding with you I'll get serious for a minute. Anytime you have a room full closed minded individuals and their numbers outnumber yours, the odds are that you just aren't going to win acceptance or approval anytime soon. I few may be able to listen and become curious enough to see for themselves what all the buzz is about. Crossbows and their use goes one of two ways: either ya love it or ya hate it. There's just no middle ground. Whatever this "other site" is, we here at CN just don't get into all of the debates and baloney. We don't bash other sites and we really don't care if they bash us because it's still freedom of speech and their still entitled to it. You know what you like to do, how you like to do it, with whatever weapon you choose, and your still gonna be happy doing it at the end of the day. Don't sweat what a few people are sayin because it aint worth it. OK, so I paid my two cents for this speech and now I'm getting down from the soapbox. Next!
Why is there enough religion in the world to incite wars and hatred, but not enough to enstill peace and tolerance?

This entire conflict stems from a self esteem problem, IMO. Having been initially just enamored in Robin Hood and archery, I shot bows from about 7 years of age. I'd shoot everyday almost regardless of weather. Started bowhunting rabbits at about 8 years of age and deer at age 10(1957). 42 years later(1999) I started using a MLer for deer hunting in addition to archery. Many of us on this board well remember the conflict between us "stick" bow hunters and the contraptions called "compounds". Didn't participate in that conflict but remember it well. Still prefer my recurve ( Palmer Whitetail Hunter ) but no problems with compounds or x-bows( which I've grown to love). Does a person have to be an archery fanatic to be able to archery deer hunt? Why did I post all of the above? Ans, because my history is similar to so many others on this board. I feel sorry for these "elitists ". My crossbow machine's bow is horizontal while their vertical machine's bow is vertical. I expect many of us x-bow shooters can still outshoot the vertical users with their own bows but that doesn't matter, but is likely true. Sorry this is so long.

I assume he meant Bowsite.  Went to the IA forum just to see what the hub-bub was about, not to post, just read.  Not sure why Iowans are moaning, I live next to IA and nothing has recently been brought up in the way of x-bows.  Anyway either I couldn't find it or most likely, knowing bowsite, it has already been deleted.

I gave up on that site long ago, it is nice to have a place to come where you don't have to deal with all that non-sense.

Instinct archers said the same thing about compound bows when they first became popular. Said the compound hunters with all their fancy accessories were cheating. Now it's the compound hunters who are taking pot shots at the crossbow hunters. How quickly people forget.  :cigar:

The Indiana hunting site I'm on was probably in the forefront of support for inclusion of crossbows in all of the archery seasons in Indiana for this next year.  Some of the comments from strict vertical bow users got almost to an outlandish stance as they kept claiming that crossbows were just like shooting guns along with the same accuracy and distance...the owner of that site is a big supporter of crossbows so he was also vilified in almost every "elitist" post.  To make a long story short, crossbows are now legal in all of Indiana's archery seasons but there are still many of the elites that think it will be the undoing of everything having to do with archery hunting.   They also obviously don't agree with any of Ted Nugent's stance on crossbows either-none of the states that have adopted crossbows have been hurt and have increased their hunter numbers which should be one of the ultimate goals.
