Call me paranoid, but perhaps I will invest in some protective gloves for shooting. Hopefully the worse that would happen is just severe bruising:
(There is an element of danger when putting the bolt in place after cocking as well)

Highland,
You must be reading my mind... LOL, I was thinking about that pic of your thumb and thought that fish cleaning clove may be of help. I've got several and have never cut myself when cleaning fish while using them. (I packed the glove in my deer field dressing case)... In the "Old Days" they wore heavy chain male and armor on their hands! For someone enterprising enough, here's a market niche needs filling!!!!

The fish cleaning glove may help with containing the blood and the finger but the hurt will still be sever.  Just keep all appendages out of the way.....Poindexter

Down at the bottom where you type, select more options. This brings up another screen with attach files at the bottom. HTH.

I noticed you have a cranck on it, I'm buying a Buck Caommander in May at the latest, I got to shoot one @ Cabelas. I fell in love w/ it even more lol I also want to put a cranck on it, my question is how do you like the cranck, what pros & cons have you found with it,.
