thats good to know..I had to take the assembly off the front anyways to install my grip..may try that tonight, and see if I can get my grip in a location that is at the exact balance point.. then hopefully it doesn't look like something from the last trailer on the left.

Can you post a pick with fore grip removed?

Good news for Ghost 400 owners who want to install a vertical grip by picany rail attachement. If you remove the 2 hex bolts holding the front hand grip rest down, remove the sling nut and remove the limbs bolt which was installed at orginial installation, the hand grip rest simply slides off the picany rail which runs the entire lengh under the removed hand rest & is how it's attached. The options are endless for an installed vertical grip & accesories at that point. :)

Right now with a busted up thumb, Trying to work with everything is a bit difficult.

I ordered the grip yesterday & should arrive soon. I get my cast off my hand & thumb tomorrow.

After I have the part, I will post pictures of what it looks like after the hand rest removal and with new vertical grip installed so everyone who owns a Ghost 400 knows what to expect. . :)

I took that off when I got home, took only a few minutes to do it all. the rail under the forearm pc. doesn't have the groove to lock your attachment in place with. but the grip I have, is pretty tight, so sliding it on seems to be just fine. anyways, I posted a few pictures i took with my phone, so... you be the judge, I kinda like the look..but alot more shine/reflection.

They sell a variety of picatinny rail covers cheap that you may want to look at to dress the bottom of the rail up a bit. You can cut many to fit.   :)

Here are some examples of pics to look at:

They also sell risers that tighten by hex bolt you can add on as well.

Aimo looking nice! do feel its a better fit for you with the vertical? Can you still get your quiver on without grinding down some of the vertical grip clamp?I ground mine down till there was no tapper to the base nice and square.

Hi HD

Yes it feel better and more stable for shooting , the only time i fold the Grip is when I hang it on the wall . And i don't use my CB quiver..i keep my extra arrow in my hip quiver .

I finally put an aluminum vertical grip on my Ghost 400. I switched the regular grip with the vertical and bolted the sling nut to the middle of it. I installed the quiver mount up front should I need it, which works there for me. Normally I use a hip quiver. Everything seems to work this way.

I really like the vertical grip, thanks for sharing information on it. This is the first time for me using one. The forearm grip is installed the way it normally is with the short side sliding to the front of the trigger housing. I tried it both ways, but with the flat side back, it gets a bit in the way for grasping the vertical grip. :)

The main reason why I installed the forearm grip is for setting the xbow in my tripod and it dresses it up a bit. If I ever want to use a tripod mount, I will have to remove it.

The vertical grip seems to work better for holding on target when sitting, standing or kneeling free hand. I don't have to crouch as much in the lower positions.   :)

That's the quiver mount bracket. I don't really use it and may take it off. When I installed the quiver, surpisingly it doesn't get in the way.

Oh ok ya you would think it would being so close to the trigger guard....well CB looking good. I wish Barnett would make a tactical cb(collapsible 5 position stock )and just the rail like the Ghost 400 so we "the Buyer " can add our own goodies to the CB rail. How many would like that idea?

Sounds great. The stock on the Ghost is short for me and my taste. I guess it's like an assult weapon now being so short. I gotta get use to it.

I dont use Limb savers.I use the BowJax split limb crossbow system. 2 for split limbs,4 jax for string and cable and the arrow retention suppressor.

Highland Hunter,

I see you have the crank cocker, question... what do you use when the cranking handle covers that little lever ratchett engagement piece directly behind the cranker at 9:00... I find that really bad designing by Barnett. Is there some way to put the handle on to avoid it stopping at that "difficult" position? I've bent a straight piece of coat hanger wire and I reach up between handle and stock then push it back and down... pain in the backside, if you ask me!

Also, do you take any special precautions when you've cocked the bow and are in the act of removing the cocking sled as you slide it under your scope?

I agree, if the rachett is on and stops to cover it, I have taken a small screw driver to release it. The handle will go crazy on you and need to be careful. A major pain in my backside as well. If this happens when cocking the xbow, you can change the position of the handle in the line up holes, so it does not happen. The other option I've used is to choose not use the rachett setting, except after cocking.

"Also, do you take any special precautions when you've cocked the bow and are in the act of removing the cocking sled as you slide it under your scope?"

Not sure what you are refering to.  My cocking sled attaches behind the scope once cocked and I need to take it over top of the scope.

Highland... yes, my sled attaches the same as yours... BUT, after you cock the string and pull the release level down, you have to reach up, grab the sled and move it forward under your scope thus clearing the scope so you can set the cocking sled back in its' stock attachment... seems to me, your hands and fingers are in some danger when you hold the sled as you pull it under your scope because you're working in front of a cocked string, EVEN though the safety is on... just seems like a dicey moment for me! Hope I explained it well enough.

Yes, I understand now and agree there is a definte element of danger there. Perhaps using heavy leather gloves would help if somehow it fired even with the safety on. I already did a number on my thumb and have deep respect for that darn string. lol
