There will be several articles on this deer in the next few months, including one on here.
This deer was killed with a horton crossbow with a 3 blade rage broadhead on private land at 17 yards away on the morning of Nov. 3rd.
Regarding the world record status, the title of world record 8 pointer is only an unofficial title, Boone and Crocket does not recognize it. From my understanding buckmasters does have records this deer will easily break.
So officially I don't have a world record 8 point, I only might have the largest 8 point ever killed legally.
The official score date will be on Jan. 2, and I will gladly give anybody my story.

Congrats on a GREAT Deer! Stop tellin all these guys about our fantasic Ohio whitetails. I thought it was a secret?
Take a look at SCI as well for the record. I know to some degree this has made your life a living hell. Like most Im sure your not all about the record books and 15 min of fame but we do owe it to the deer.
