Are you twisting the string after it's installed on the bow? Also when you reserve a string it needs to be tight.

When you say messes it up do you mean the serving seperates or the serving becomes frayed? If it seperates normally its not wound tight enough when put on. If it becomes frayed usually there is a slight burr or sharp edge on the trigger hook. That can be fixed with a very fine emory paper on the edges and inside of the hook that holds the serving. Hope that this helps.

As i said before its probably a sharp edge on the trigger hook )the part that holds the string when cocked). If you bought the bow locally have the dealer fix it or call Parker and explain to them your problem. They will more then likely have you ship it back to them for repairs. Or as I said you can try a little fine emory paper on the hooks to see if that helps.

I can tell you from experience, the claws have a sharp edge on them. You have to polish those edges or you will continue to tear up servings.
I reserved mine 3 times before I got wise to the problem.
Then the limbs splintered. All history now, shooting an Excal now.
