Hi
I am new from Norway, Europe. Unfortunelately, crossbows are not legal in this country...Yes I know, it is not nice at all!! We are working on passing a new law that bow and arrow will again be able to use as a hunting tool. So far it seems very positive, there was a hearing in the Nature dept this fall, and next step will be in Congress. I will do my best to follow up with crossbow as well.
Luckily I am able to hunt both in the US and in Canada. Actually I first started to bowhunt in 1986, but started to be more serious about bowhunting four years ago. Today, I hardly fire my rifles anymore.....
I have a Horton Supermag crossbow, but will sell it and get either a Kodabow or Excalibur. My bow is a PSE X-Force, but my crossbow will be a recurve, and it have to be light since my plan is to use it for stalking in Africa.
Best regards
Tryggve Tonneberg

There are no competitions with crossbows so far, I know there are some clubs that shoots X-bows, but so far there is nothing formal yet. There are several 3D-courses, and several championships. Actuially, I live close to three different ranges, nice for practise with my bow. My family owns property with both moose and deer-hunting, and one day I hope to be able to hunt with bow and arrow, and it looks very promising. Denmark had bowhunting for several years now, and Sweden is ready to pass the new law allowing bow and arrow.
We in the Norwegian Bowhunter Associaton will have to work on the information part in 2012. Next fall will be in either Michigan or Ohio, we'll see were we will end up this time.

Welcome Tryggve,
It's nice to have members from across the globe. Good luck with Congress. I hope it all goes well. As for your African adventure, Gary Kehne is an avid African hunter and he might be able to give you some insight. He too is a recurve hunter. VERY knowledgeable. Gary Kehne is his user name as well, perhaps you could PM him for info.
Take care,
Tim
