Table Top Comparison of the TAC 15 and TAC 10i side by side.  Overall, the 10i is a ton of fun.  QUALITY of the inner workings needs some work big time! Thank God the PSE distributor (Wyvern Creations LLC) THOROUGHLY stood behind their product... they were responsive, FAST and extremely courteous to work with.  Take a look at the vid... it speaks for itself (the awful quality AND the great customer service).

TAC 15 and TAC 10i Table Top Comparisons
Parker Safari Classic (150lb) Hawke MAP scope + 400 grain arrows = 326 fps
2008 Diamond Black Ice - 29in draw, 70lbs, "no peep", HHA Optimizer Plus = 249 fps with 429 grain arrows
2011 Telson (Scorpyd) 130lb - 19.75in powerstroke, + Hawke SR scope = 390.2 fps with 400 grain arrows
2011 TAC 10i - (vids coming shortly)
2010 TAC 15 (used) - (more vids coming shortly)

Why even discuss problems with a discontinued model? It's gone, done, over.  I think your viewers want to see "Live Action" as from the show "Call of the Wild Man"  from the "Turtle Man" (Animal Planet channel)   I would like to see "Live Action" between your 3 xbows.(Exclude the 10i).   Show and talk about Accuracy, shot vibration, noise, trigger quality, build quality, cable/string wear, ease of use, applications for the weapons that you seem suit each one.
Thanks for your continued efforts to educate folks about different xbows.

I love the fact that you're extremely FRANK and open CT.  Never a doubt about what you think.

-Loving the suggestions you made for a vid.  But the 10i will be in there no doubt.  First of all it was my FIRST PSE.  Second it's a SWEET bow.  You gotta understand that PSE (A Corp) has particular motives for making decisions... NONE of which are really something I'm interested in OR care about... I'm only interested in them standing behind their product.  So far so Good since their distributor offers superior service.  You can skip over that part CT... I can't wait to show how sweet my Telson 130 is too.  Most folks have no idea how smooth Scorpyds are... And the Parker holds his own too! In fact the Safari Classic is kind of my "control" or "reference" bow.  Basic, no frills killer.  As a survival bow it might be the best since it is so simple and relatively easy to maintain.  Can't Wait to make the vid. Thanks for the suggestions.

At least everyone knows I won't ever lie to them. LOL    My fantastic wife tells me I'm a great man with zero compassion.lol   I don't know what she means.lol
Guy's come to CN to learn about current and future xbow products.   It seems to me your the only guy that has the equipment to do" live action" stuff.   How about some slow motion shots of arrows leaving a xbow and in flight? Haven't seen that yet on here.    Show everyone what happens to a arrow after you squeeze that trigger.  Check out that crazy show I talked about.   Where do you live in PA?     Myself , BD1, and, PA xbow are from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton general area.

My wife just found out how many xbows I have.  :cigar:  She laughed it out of me and I told her.  :notfair: Only a woman can do that.  I told her that I work extremely hard and I'm enjoying my hobbies... said all that to say that I've been debating a new cam setup that would let me film much higher quality vids... looking at some high quality refurbished cams online but I'll need better editing software as well.  My current iMovie software while 'ok' can't do things I'm interested in doing.

I'm indeed a PA boy but since I'm on AD we move every few years. That's getting old. I think we've moved now close to a dozen times.  I can't ever get settled enough to find good places to hunt and make and keep huntin buds.  Me and the fam just visited PA... we drove! Took us 2.5 half days to get there and 2 days to drive back over the holidays.  What an amazing country we live in.  Big, Beautiful and most of it "FREE" ...well, Free to carry concealed firearms but I digress.  (I'll PM you about PA...)

I started that vid today but technical difficulties with 2 of 4 of the xbows slowed me down.  Guess which two they were: You guessed it - both TACs LOL.  The 10i is shooting all over the place but I think that could be due to my wife moving it around "cleaning" - maybe loosened the scope.  The 15 I splattered a bolt (gasp!) into a cement wall b/c I trusted it was zero'd.  DUMB on my part  :goodjob: ... so I can't really blame the TACs.  I lined up each of them against a wall side by side on vid AND I shot 2 practice shots from the Parker, Telson and 10i.  The results will astonish you and everyone else I think but I'll keep it to myself for now to build drama.

Hi deerboy,

You should call PSE about your issues, something is definitely wrong.

I am shoot a 2011 TAC 10i also and have had zero problems with it and it is a tac driver out to 50 yards (I haven't bothered shooting past 50 yards with it yet since it is hunting season still.).

Did you square everything up when you set up the 10i?

Was the previous owner experiencing any problems with the TAC 15?

I would move the bipod to the free-floating rail.  You are putting pressure on the front of that crossbow that can cause accuracy issues.  The bipod that comes with the TACs sucks IMO.  Look at the Harris line instead with a picatinny rail adapter.

Ditch the factory trigger in the 10i, it is a heavy trigger and I would replace it.  Lots of guys use Timneys (which are a nice drop in trigger in the 3-4 lb range), I went with a different single stage trigger set at 15 ounces.

If you are using the factory arrow with factory vanes, put a drop of fletching glue on the front of the vanes.

A side note, the TAC 10i will fit in a SKB crossbow case perfect for flying  :thumbsu:

Here's what just worked for me.   I went to a outdoor campfire for New Years, my wife had a few drinks and, I ended up ordering a 350 because I told her I wanted to beat the price increase. She made me run home and order one.   Got any ideas for the next one?  I'm not done yet.

Can't wait for the" Live Action" vid

wow. great recommendations All...but not sure what you mean by squaring up the 10i. I tuned the arrows so I'm sure they are flying straight. What else am I missing? And I'm not crazy about an expensive trigger mod only b/c the factory trigger is "ok" AND I found the RR parts I dropped into the Stag Lower on my TAC 15 supplies what feels to be a noticeably easier pull.  I was surprised at that b/c AR15 parts are all "mil spec" but the difference vs my Stag Model 8 is noticeable...so... I might drop a stock RR trigger into my 10i...go figure.  The bipod recommendation is fantastic...and I thought about gluing the vanes but you confirmed it. Any suggestions for the brand of glue?

I don't think you can purchase that upper since it's just a 'part'.  The reason I got 2 of them is b/c the distributor/online store was supporting me (the customer) with a defective part.  I'll soon be returning these directly to PSE so the distributor can get replacements for themselves under warranty.

In regards to squaring and leveling, this link has the directions: Squaring & Leveling Link.

If you PM your e-mail address I will forward the pictures that go with those directions (they were given to me by a fellow member and helped with the directions)  :thumbsu: .

I use Bohning Fletch-Tite Platinum.  You are only using a dot of glue on the front of the vane.  This has been the trick for years especially when using feathers (some put a dot on both the front and back of the feathers).
