--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
New guy here, name is Bob
Had a really good end to 2011 today, it was 62* today and windy. Not one to be swayed by the wind, whether it's shooting small calibers or riding my motorcycle.
then the waning hours of the day approached and it was time to go bow hunting for deer. yesterday i spent a couple hours setting up and brushing in a ground blind. earlier in the year i placed the ground blind in a manor that should have given me a good evening shot as the deer went from their bedding area to feed. well that didn't work out to well as when the deer walked by at 20 yards the sun was right in my eyes and the sun lit up the inside of the blind. needless to say the deer had me nailed, never did get the bow pulled back for the shot as the deer stared me down as it disappeared over the knoll.
when i placed the blind this time it faced a more southern direction and was set back in the thick under growth about 10 yards. i was literally shooting thru a small tunnel thru the cedar trees.
did i say the wind was blowing, yip i sure did. when i got to my blind it was setting upside down. took a few minutes but all was reset and ready to go.

An hour and 15 minutes later it was almost time to call it quits for the day, only 7 minutes left of legal shooting light when the beep alarm on my wrist watch went off, 5:27, i had set it a month earlier to remind me when shooting hours was over, you could just imagine how horrified i was to hear my watch go beep beep beep. think quickly i put the palm of my hand over the watch and totally quieted it. there is no turning the alarm off in daylight much less in the dark. 10 seconds go by and i remove my hand from the watch and beep beep comes out of it again. the hand goes back over it and quiets it again, 15 more seconds go by and again i remove my hand and beep beep again. the third time was a charm, this time i cupped my palm over it for 25 seconds and miracles never cease, all was quiet once again.

about 30 seconds later i see this deer sneaking and looking right at the blind, i could tell it was curious what the bleeping hell was making that beep sound, at this point i put an arrow thru it's heart. just goes to show ya cats aren't the only one's with curiosity.

Only had my new bow two days and have already lost an arrow and broadhead but i did manage to give a needy family meat to start off the new year. only problem i can't shoot another deer until next year, wait, that's tomorrow.
Happy New Year to everyone.
Strykeforce 380 and rage broadheads.
