Been looking high and low for a "decent: broadhead target.  I see Cabela's is offering one in their ARCHERY 2011 magazine.  It's called the OUTFITTER BROADHEAD TARGET, and is boasting that it's lightweight and portable; longlasting; and here's the mind-blower:  They go on to say it's a 2 Finger Pull-Out !!
The only thing they are NOT saying is if it's for Crossbows.
My questions is have any of you good members possibly bought this target?  And if so, what are your personal findings?  I'm getting cross-eyed reading review after review, and have not come up with a recommendation that I feel comfortable enough to buy.  Really would appreciate your findings.  Please, I'm only looking for responses from actual experience with a good broadhead target.  Hear say gets me lost a lot.  Forgive me if I sound harsh; don';t mean to be....just looking for hard facts only.  Thank you again.

I'm with you, looking at buying a broadhead crossbow target and don't want to spend what most are asking just to have it be a piece of junk!

I bought a Morrell Yellow Jacket broadhead target several years back for my Mathews Outback and othe vertical bows. Now that I am shooting crossbows also I still use it. I do not shoot it a lot. Usually 5 to 10 times a year sighting in just before and during deer season. I can probably get another 5 to 10 years out of this target.

robertyb !  Your my kind of guy!!  Thank you for your very straight forward reply and recommendation.  The  target you specified (Morrel Yellow Jacket Broadhead Target) is EXACTLY what I'm looking for.  I'm not interested in shooting broadheads into it constantly and wearing it down to nothing.  Like yourself, I just want to insure that my broadheads are flying straight from my Excal. Phoenix.  Now, I just need to focus on  best cost.  Thank you again for your response.  Do you happen to know of any web sites that sell this target at a favorable cost?

Mine was actually a Christmas/Birthday present to me but it came off Ebay.
Go to google and enter it then hit shopping on left of page and see who has best price but remember shipping also.

Muskrat--I posted about the yellow jacket target last week.I did not get any response on the target till this thread. There is a local archery shop here in pa that had the broadhead and field point target for 69.00. I will be calling them to see if they still have the bundle pack at the same price. Will post if they do.I will ask them if they have a web site.

Not what your looking for, but i have a rhinehart rhino, i use reaper practice tips on them, they are made for broadheads and except for when i made the mistake of using practice tips, normal ones that is, i really like it. Nice and sturdy.

There is a couple of new broad head targets that are going to be coming out this year. That are going to allow you to change the density of the foam to fit your needs.

well I am not sure if you are already finished with your search for a BH target?   But if not too late I have to whole heartedly recommend the BLOB target.  I just purchased it not too long ago and I am so very impressed.  It was 99.00 shipped TYD.  If you go to the other site I have a review posted there. I thought I did it here but not sure.

Its a 24x24x10 and it IS HEAVY (down side) but that is all that is a down fall.  I am shooting a Scorpyd SLP 165 and when I got it out of the box I loaded up my bow and put a Steelforce 100gr head on and let her fly.  I will tell you the head NEVER made it out the back side... not even the tip. This is coming from a Scorpyd slp 165 at like 12 to 15 feet.   When I went to pull my arrow out I just grabbed it like I do with my Spyderweb target for FP and it didn't budge HAHAHA.   So I just placed my leg and foot against the target and gave a nice controled steady pull and it came right out no problems at all.  I was like wow that is impressive.  I shot both mechanical and fixed blades into it and comes right out with no problems at all.

Now its NOT a pretty target and you will have to either paint targets on it or pin some type of target on it as it is a plain jane target but wow this thing is going to last a long time.  I am actually looking forward to shooting more BH's this year than in years past.

Also on the OTHER site there is a 20 dollar off for members of that site  and I got it for 99 shipped so not sure if they are the same ones I got mine from but for most likely well under a 100 bucks its a done deal.

I can also honestly tell you that this will be the last BH target I will ever get!!   I just hope they don't stop making then as then I would have to buy a bunch of them to last for as long as I keep shooting my bows.

Best of luck and if any more info is needed please don't hesitate to ask.
