I am new to Xbow hunting, I borrowed a Horton Legend SL last fall for deer hunting, it worked great and now I am hooked. The guy I borrowed the Legend SL from doesn't hunt with a Xbow and he said he would sell it to me for $150.00 with 12 new bolts, scope and soft case.  I don't know for sure but it looks like the limbs may be starting to crack where they are attached.  The limbs have some 1/2 to 1 inch long scratches or cracks where they are attached. They feel like cracks to me.  I called Horton and was told new limbs are $90.00. With a new string and shipping I could add another $50.00. Is this bow worth putting $300.00 in or should I just buy a new one with a quarantee?

Any thoughts or help will be much appreciated.

Put that 300.00 in to a new bow. That's what I would do anyway.

If the limbs are damaged why would they not replace them?  Any chance of seeing a picture?  Those crossbows had very little issues and I would like to see what your talking about.  Most limb issues are on the inside of the limb.

I would buy a new bow... if you look around on the net you can find a TRT Ultralite Express or other complete bow package in the $400.00 to $550.00 range. New bow, new arrows, new quiver, new scope, WARRANTY... that warranty can be worth its weight in gold... if you buy that older bow you really should replace the string and cables, more money... I just Googled the TRT package and found it for $512.00 shipped. If you need help finding a good deal on one feel free to pm me and I will be glad to help you. One hint: personally, I would never pay big box store prices for one unless it is a closeout and CRAZY low price. Our local "Fish Pro Shops" was charging $850.00 plus state sales tax for Vision 175 packages and I found them online for $619.00 shipped.
