Hi im new to the forum and was hoping someone with a little more knowladge about these things could help me out.  I just bought a used pse viper coperhead from some kid a buddy of mine knows, it has a prodiamond 4x32 scope mounted on it.  I took it out into the backyard to sight it in and it hit the target about 12 inches below where i was aiming.  The up and down adjustment on the scope is adjusted all the way up you cannot adjust it any higher and I dont see any way of raising the mount itself.  Does anyone know any tricks on how I can fix this?  I have never mounted a scope on anything before so i tried sliding the mount up and down the rail but it didn't change at all.  Please help i need your help.

Hey You ever get the viper sited in? A Great old friend Gave me a CopperHead crossbow, I have A four line sight on mine my brother gave me it and it is sweet I found it easier to leave the dial on the side of the viper at zero and use the different levels on the scope

When the scope mount is set at "0", it is almost parallel with the rail. Any shots at distance should fall below the center of the crosshair. You didn't mention the distance that you were shooting at, but here's the scientific approach to sighting in without the aid of a shooting bench. Set the dial to "0", run the turret adjustment on the scope to the mid position. Set your target at 20 yards and shoot three arrows while bracing the bow on a table for the steadiest release possible. ALWAYS aim at the center of the target. Pay no attention to where the arrows are hitting. Now, unless you have an errant shot or bent arrows, the three arrows should be grouped together somewhere on the target face. Go back to the table and re-sight the bow on the center of the target. Use bricks, sanbags, lead ingots, or whatever you can find to lock the bow onto the postiion that will keep it on the center of the target. While looking through the scope, adjust the range dial until the crosshair is closest to the center of the ARROW GROUP. Use the turret adjustment to fine-tune it. Then use the turret adjustment to center the arrow group with the windage (left/right) turret adjustment. Now, you should be dead-on!

When you said that the arrows were hitting about 12" high at full adjustment, I had the feeling that you were tilting the scope with the range dial, which is going the wrong way at short distances. Just trying to help.

I just got a Viper Copper Head and I really don't no that much about a crossbow in general. It has a red dot scope on I can hit with it but I really don't like this set up. I want to change the scope to a Nikon Bolt 3x32. I have had some experence with this type of scope on rifles and really like the way they work for me there. Is their anybody out there with this type scope are something comparable to this scope. Thanks Cadet Jack for info on the sighting in I have never set a crossbow up, heck I never own one before so I'm pretty fired up about getting this thing on a hunt. We have a spring turkey season coming here in Alabama and I'm planning on trying my hand with this rig. I just beleave that something will go down I have used a compound bow before so I not a total novice at this although the crossbow is a cross between a rifle and a bow I feel good about using it to take a turkey or deer or anything else for that matter.Hey guys help me out here give me an opinion one way or the other.
