This may seem kind of a boring subject but I'm hoping there will be some new CB case options for 2012. Is that something that would be at the ATA show?

I am interested in a good quality soft case. I would prefer a hard case but that would probably be too much money. And I won't be traveling far with my CB so a soft case will do the job just fine.

And of course this case would have to fit a bow with reversed limbs. ;)

Yes, there will be cases at the show.

I have used the Tarantula Deluxe soft case for the past 2 years, and I am completely satisfied with it. I don't even want a hard case. They are too bulky, and take up way too much space IMO. I can put the Tarantula, and all my other gear in the back cab of my truck.

It has an arrow pocket that will hold a 4 arrow quiver with 22" arrows, and another pocket for your sled, wrenches, field points, broadheads, etc.,. It actually comes with a small plastic broadhead/gear box in the small pouch, but I removed if for mor room for my sled and other things. Regular price $69.99, bought on sale for $49.99.

That looks perfect scorpydized. Unless something better comes out of the ATA show, I will be hunting for one of these.

I agree. Hard cases are way bulky.

Thanks so much!

Did I mention that I love this site!?

Is anyone familiar with the Allen case model 6012?

Made specifically for reverse limb bows.

Measures 36 x 21 x 9"h

Doesn't look like the Ventilator will fit in this case. Based on Jim's quote below.

Quote

It is 35 3/4" long, 19 5/8" axle to axle uncocked

I like my Plano Manta... I don't have to worry about the bow getting bumped or damaged.

Ditto that, I went the soft route for my Horton at first, ended up spending the money to get the peace of mind of the hard case.  So I spent much more than intended.  I thought the same as Buckslayer, until some gear shifted in the truck and whacked my scope once.  Then instead of being in the woods at dawn I had to waste precious hunting hours at the camp sighting in again.

I got my Manta a couple weeks back.  Set up nicely, and even allowed me to 'improve' it with a few extra velcro straps of my own.  I was bummed when my Scorpyd wouldn't fit in my old Plano hard case.  I got the Manta online for $85 shipped, but that included a coupon.

Buckslayer, if Do$h is that tight for you right now, I'll ship you the softcasr I have for the cost of shipping.  Then you can save your pennies for the Manta.  At least it will keep the dust off of your new Scorpyd.

Hey John can you post a pic of your Scorpyd sitting in the Manta case?  I was thinking that there would be some "extra" space on the edges based on the scorpyd design and that you may be able to mount (velcro) a small box for broadheads and accessories.  anyway it seems that the manta is a good option for the Ventilator.

Thanks...
Steve

I remember reading that the Carbon Express case works great with a Scorpyd.
It, or the Mantra would be my choice.

The Carbon Express works great Plus has the room to fit 22" arrows on the outside pocket with a quiver no problem.

Hi SmacD
Yes, it is a case that "protects" your xbow for ~$90 online. It's very roomy with ample space for many extras. It is big and, can be seen @ Cabelas and other retailers to see if you would like it.  The Manta can be cleaned easily after you throw it on your bloody buck for the ride home in the back of your truck. Or if you prefer you can throw the deer on it.  I hang my Manta on the garage wall for storage with my 4 targets right under it.
Good luck

I just went to my local Dunhams and got the Plano Manta. $99.99 minus my 30% off coupon came out to be $74 and some change out the door. If any of you are interested, can hook you up with the coupon to use for yourself.

Follow link and print it out. I download it to my smart phone and show them at checkout. I asked how many times I can use it and they told me this morning that they would let me use it again. They have a Morrell Bone Collector target for $75. I think I'm going to get it right now. Coupon is good for February.
