Got my DTM yesterday! Took only a few minutes to put together (bolt on the already strung riser and the sights).

Did not have much time to shoot it but only took 5 shots to sight in.

My initial impressions:

nice and light and compact (yeah I know recurves are wider but I am okay with that) with good balance.

Has a good feel when handling it. I like the semi pistol grip. The length of pull (Butt to trigger) seems a little short. Don't think that is all bad especially when wearing exrta clothing as well for smaller framed shooters.

I like the automatic saftey when cocking it, although it does not have an anti-dryfire device.

Got mine with peep sights, prefering to keep it simple and light. *the front sight is not fiber-optic* Will probally put a drop of white paint on mine.

This crossbow does not come with any silencing equipment. So as you may guess it is a bit on the loud side. Later I might play around a little and see if I can make it quieter.

Due too it's light weight, it is lively when shooting it, almost feels like a dryfire.

In comparision I had an Excalibur Exomag that I sold about a year ago. If memory serves me correct the exomag was a little quieter although it did have the db bars on it. The exomag had a little less jump to it as well probally due to it being heavier.

All in all I find it a perfect hunter's crossbow for someone who wants something light, fast rugged, and reliable and doesn't want to woory and fret over his equipment.

Todd,
Congrats on your new bow. The Victory XBolts are pretty light. Fast but light. I have a DTM375 and went with a heavier arrow to quiet things down a bit. Be sure to fill out your warranty card. You'll probably never need it, but Derrick likes to have them. Your 315 is bullet proof and light as a feather. Congrats again.

Hi Todd,

I'm wondering where you bought it?  I'm trying to find a dealer with a 375 in stock, but so far no luck.  I've talked to Arrowhead and USA-Barn.  No luck either place.  I've also talked to a few Canadian dealers, but no luck with them either.  Arrowhead did offer to try to get Derrick to make me a one-off, but that seems like it'd take a fair amount of time and I'd rather deal with someone who actually has one in stock.

Thanks,
~Ekkie

I got mine through Arrowhead, so I do not think I can help you out.

Have not shot it much, I have been hunting with my homebuilt crossbow to finish out the season (we have an extended doe season in my unit). Later I plan on some more in depth testing after the season is over.

Really do believe it to be a perfect "hunters" crossbow- tough ,accrurate, and reliable.
