Can you shoot half moon arrow nocks out of the Tornado model w/o any issues with limb failure or are we stuck with the captured nocks to preserve the warranty?

This is from another post of mine. I would use the capture nocks myself. I believe they would be more accurate.

Well I shot the bow this evening and had it lined fairly well in 8 shots. I tweaked it at 20 and it is dead on and deer/turkey dangerous. I like the bow all around. The Carbon express with the moon nocks worked very well. I do have two packs of the Parker/Carbon express capture nocks on order. I got them from e-bay for $9.90 a pack and $2.50 to ship both. But until they get here I will be using the moon nocks.

I figured out today how that some are having problems. This is just my thoughts while it being my first time shooting the bow. And also primarily after being used to a Horton.

You must be very careful when loading these Parker bows with the moon nock arrows, also check these arrows to make sure the nocks are aligned properly. Some are not, new and straight from the box. The three inch fletching on the arrows recess back underneath the arrow retainer hold down. You must be very precise when loading and making sure you have the arrow all the way back, and in until it stops, not until rides up,but until it stops. If you do not get the arrow seated and check every time, you will be having problems.

This is a cut n paste from Parker web site for the Tornado. I believe it answers your question.

Alignment

WARNING! Without proper alignment of bolt and nock, a dry-fire could occur.

* Use ONLY Red Hot or Parker Hunter Arrows in Parker Crossbows.

* Use Moon Nocks or Capture Nocks ONLY
