Some say the New Voodoo Crossbow arrow was the hottest thing at the ATA?

What do you guys think? The concept is cool, only having a very small portion of the arrow dragging across the rail?

Has to have alot less wind drift, and may be great at long distant shooting?

Im calling them tomorrow to ask a few questions.

If I am going to get an arrow and I do not make any, the best arrow hands down is going be the Carbon Tech bolts.  Rick know his stuff.  Best single spine shaft in the market with performance to match, just no one take the time to know how good it is and it looks so plain.  IMHO, the voodoo is technically useless the moment an bow is design to shot slightly above deck or an arrow rest is used.  The bottom line, is that being a 0.166" ID shaft and 3 aluminum over-cert system, you are not going to be able to tune the FOC or air foil system that easily.

I dont think the bow string is shooting anymore "above" deck than with any other arrow.

To me it looks like the middle rail slide and nock are around the same diameter as a normal bolt, and has a thin arrow going thru it to keep the shaft from making contact with the rail?

Im just wonder if it is stiff enough for 400+ fps bows, and are they durable?

They sure do, and I think it is one of the best.  For single spine and weight, nothing is better.   Just no one seems to know about it.  And the sad part is that no dealer even heard of it.  I have to talked with Rick of Carbon tech to inquire about it as I saw it in ATA.  It is the light, tough, and well built.  I am planning to use it as main component on future Aerobolt!  It is that good.

We just introduced our 2012 Cross bow arrow called the CT Wolverine.  It is a 22/64 diameter shaft and is 13.5 grains per inch with a spine of .075".  The price has not been determined yet.  I should know more in about another month.

  Thanks!

Could that be insert and nock for 22"  - 297 grns?  That seems ok
Are things back to normal yet after the ATA trip?  Those conventions wear ya out.  Fun at the start, then you can't wait to get home.

The Horton Vision and other models with the interupted channel will not be able to use these arrows. That bulb in the middle will need to ride on a perfectly smooth channel that does not vary.

Not to mention the possible wear issues in the rail where the bulb and outsert type nock rides.

What is that bulb weight going to do in the middle of the shaft as it is being pushed at 425 FPS? I would think if you get anything other than straight line acceleration, the arrow will oscillate going down range.

One thing I have not seen mentioned is, how tough are these going to be to pull out of a foam 3D target, or any other target for that matter? I am sure my Scorpyd 165 would drive those Voo Doo/Death Nails well into the targets enough to lock that bulb inside. Of course if they do not penetrate as far as that bulb, they should be very easy to pull out, using it for leverage.

Another concern, is how long before that bulb on the shaft going from 350-425 FPS to ZERO in a target, is it going to stay put on the shaft? It will be interesting to see how this all plays out in the real world.

Did anyone shoot the Victory Voo Doo or Maximus Death Nails at the ATA Show? I havent seen anything written by anyone that has shot them.

Well all those questions and more will be answered as soon as they start shipping them. If they fail then they'll go back and that will be the end of it. I can't imagine them not testing it on a fast xbow before selling it. But then again I couldn't imagine a xbow being made and sold before testing but we saw lots of that last year from a certain bow maker. ( not Scorpyd )

I do think someone will one day make a durable shaft that is in an affordable price range for all hunters with fast xbows.
