I used rages last part of the season and hate em. Never use them again, and i know a few different guys around here feel the same. I like mechanicals, this is my top three, im going to pick one of them, just dont want to waste the money trying them all. I have a predator. Any input would help, as always im asking a what works for me type of question. My turkey season opens may7th, and my uncle told me recently i could hunt his land, which i guess has a 100 bird flock crusing through it every day in the spring. I wont shoot game with this xbow til i feel im ready and i need to practice with what ill kill with. Thanks

Not an answer to his question.

Before the Grim Reaper kool-aid drinkers show up, I'll put in a good word for Swhacker 125gr. Of the three that you mentioned, The Swhackers are the only ones that have user adjustable deployment.

Another one to look closely at, is the Gator XP. No bands, springs, or o-rings that could possibly fail.

Grim Reaper Kool-Aid drinkers????   That's a good one.....not a drinker of anyone's Kool-Aid...just a believer in what works for me...and that would be....REAPERS!!!!  Look at any of my posts on the subject.....read the offer I make folks....as close to a "money-back if not satisfied" as you will ever see!!!!  And, I don't even work for them!!!!

I would, however, recommend against using the Reapers...especially if you hate devastating penetration, field point flight, exit wounds that look they were made by a Howitzer, and blood trails that scared Freddy Kruger into reitrement!!!!!

All that typing made me thirsty...think I'll go back to the fridge for some more....

wait for it......

Used all 3 at various times on verticals and xbows. I like the swhacker best due to the deployment set up and adjustable ability much

Thanks for the input guys, about what i was expecting. I spent alot of money trying different stuff this season, trying to eliminate it some. Ive watched the hunting vids and looked at alot of pics. Weather finaly turned bad, which is good cause i can hit my favorite walleye lake now, but not great for shooting to practice.  Slick trick are #1 on the list for fixxed blade.

Well, my non mechanical broadhead problem is solved. Bought two packs of g5 strikers 100grain 1/2 off tonite. Couldnt pass that up, 18.00 a pack. Ill give em a try and if they shoot good out of my bow ill use em on turkeys as a test drive.

If those don't work out, try the Spitfires.  I use the Spitfire Maax 100gr with my Buck Commander and have had very good results. The only problems I have noticed is that the retainer that keeps the blades locked in flight tend to get bent when shooting into a target or into the ground on a passthrough.  Also passthrough shots from a ground blind do not give you a good blood trail due to internal bleeding. From an elevated stand a bind man could follow the blood.  They shoot as true as my field points, and I have had good luck reshaping the blade locks after they have bent....happy hunting and save some turkey for me....Poindexter

Just shot my new g5 strikers, 100 grain in the basement. My old black hole target is to shot up to use for the xbow. The g5s are really accurate, put 3x5" pieces of cardboard on target to make sure i didnt hit a super soft spot. Was blasting em at 40 feet. Super close i know, but my arrows were going into target at left angle and with these they arent. Want to stretch it out some but have to wait a couple of weeks until i can order a rhino. Dont want to risk pass throughs with this snow. Never find em.

I have tried quite a few broadheads for hunting. I find the Grim reapers 125 Xbow broadheads to be a quality head with a nice tight grouping, and fantastic blood trails.

I hate rage, lost two deer using them, close range, behind the shoulder hits. One arrow was up to the made in wording on a carbon express surge, fell out within a few yards and never found the deer. Another one i tracked over 500 yards, twinsting and winding all over hell. Couldnt believe it. I have a buddy that lost a couple deer with rages to, he hunts private land out of a ground blind, his shots are over a bait pile at 20 yards. Mabe we needed more powerful xbows, but i killed a deer at 52 yards on a complete pass through with what i had. Who knows. It isnt worth the risk to me, i like the looks of spitfires and ill try em out. I just sighted in for coyotes that come on the back of my property, going to try tonite with the g5 strikers.
