Picked up a new, leftover RDT 125 a couple weeks back.  Hawke 3x32 MAP crossbow scope on it completed the deal.  Problem was the shop had it a couple of years and lost the literature that came with the Scorpyd.

I knew that Scorpyd would likely be at ATA so I waited until Tuesday to email them.  Within 20 minutes, Rex called me on the phone to let me know he would send me out a packet.

Nice fellow, took some time to answer my questions and make suggestions.  Now where do you get customer attention like this anymore?  I'm having a hoot with this crossbow, and can't wait to hunt the thing...

Werd. Rex is one cool cat!

Hey I have a Ventilator 125 on order and I can't wait to try it out. I went with the 125 cuz I like the idea of an easier draw and less vibration. I imagine the RDT 125 is similar. What do you think about the vibration and draw on your 125?

Clint,

Keep in mind that I've only been shooting it for a couple weekends and have only the Horton to compare it to.

As to vibration, all noise is a factor of a combination of things.  Shooting lighter bolts will get you speed but more noise/vibration in the x-bow.  What the store had were Barnett x-bow bolts that weigh @ 330 grains.  I shoot 100 grain field tips and mechanical broadheads when hunting for a total of 430 grains.  I'd like to go lighter but Rex's opinion that I should be shooting 400 grains, so that would be as low as I would go.  Much less vibration than I'm used to right now as it is.

My Horton was so loud that I had several deer jump the string so I spent a lot of time looking for more speed.  I finally took my first deer late in PA's archery with it this year.

Don't misunderstand me, I'm not blaming the Horton.  It just took me nearly 3 seasons to figure out our combined limitations and how to hunt with it properly.

Draw is actually similar to the Horton even though there is a 50 lb difference.  This is because the longer stroke requires you to pull it back farther.

So far, I'm quite pleased with the purchase.

If anyone is interested in the "Gem in the Ruff" I may know of potentially 3 brand new ones still sitting there waiting for somebody. They came through without scopes so, nobody shot them.  The most durable Scorpyd to date. imo   BTW-370fps.

I have an RDT 125 and (knock on wood) :) have never had any problem at all with it since 2009.
I believe, it has the best combination of draw weight and speed to give it a one up in reliability issues on some of other Scorpyd models.
Hopefully, the new Ventilator will prove to be even better !
Scorpyd Crossbows...Nothing else compares !
I'd rather kill with a crossbow than wound with a compound !

Thats exactly what I'm hoping for. I'm looking for a durable bow that will last a LONG time. And great speed doesn't hurt either ;)

Haha yeah I guess you could say I caved. I normally wouldn't spend that kind of money but I've been saving for a while and I sold a lot of stuff. Because when I decided to go forward with this whole crossbow thing, I told myself I wanted to hold out for what I really wanted and not settle on something because I could afford it at the time.

The Vent has everything I'm looking for. If it holds up like Rex says it will, I'll be one happy camper for many seasons.

I must say the ventilator looks like a great bow.  It's on my short list this year.  It's between the ventilator and one other) It's great looking as well.  I just may have to order one of those.......
