The Trijicon package with aerobolts and a specially adapted monopod.

What a sweet rig........isn't it?

I wonder how the Trijicon works in real low light, only the chevron glows, can you see the other lines?

Im leaning towards a Custom built Leupold VX3 2.5x8 with parallax set at 40 yards.

I was wondering the same thing bloodrunner but if you look at the layout of the scope, I think it starts at 30 yards. In low light I'm not going to shoot to far out anyway. I believe it will be plenty in those circumstances.

Hey Jvac3hunter,

Where did you get the Ventilator image with all the specs?

True, but I still like the idea of a variable rifle scope so you can dial it up at pick the tuff of hair you want to hit:)

I have an old Leupold vari-X III on my deer rifle that I love, might go the same route for my Ventilator.

If you want to be really precise bloodrunner I would think that's the best way to go but you also have more weight and the need for range adjustment like the HHA. I looked at a trijicon acog scope at the store and its so crystal clear and so precise that I'm thinking that you will be able to be really accurate at longer ranges but not quite the level that a variable power scope would give you at longer ranges but I like the idea of the more lighter faster,  simpler trijicon scope myself for hunting.

If money were no object (it must not be cuz I ordered a Ventilator already) I would definitely get the Trijicon scope for hunting purposes. If I were going with long distance shooting I would get a high power scope with the HHA system.

I would also get Firenock bolts, completely decked out.

Then I would call up SKB and have them make me a custom hard case.

I think I would pass on the HHA Optimizer,

My research showed me a fast X-bow like the Ventilator, say 390 FPS. Sighted in dead nuts at 40 yards would be a killing machine at ranges of 0-50 yards.

20 yards would be its highest point of impact at 4.6 inches high, and 50 yards it would be 5.7 inches low "aproximate" figures, would have to field test.

I have killed at least 50 deer using 1 pin sights on my vertical bows, im used to aiming a little high or low.

If I used a variable power scope I would try to use it the way your describing but used that way it's possible the acog might be actually more precise.  Target practicing at home at 80yards would be the only benefit to me using a variable scope. Using a similar method as learning hold over I believe I can have a lot of fun learning to be as accurate as a variable power scope or at least coming dang close. Lol

I would like to see the Trijicon, it looks really cool. But there is alot to be said about old school crosshairs and killing deer:)

The Optimizer would be fun for messing around with them 80-100+ yard shots.

It's definitely a preference thing.  I think it would be hard to beat a nice variable power scope on a HHA at 100 yards. I might end up getting a set up like that in the future just for shooting 100 or more yards, I think it would be a blast!!!!  But for my hunting situations I don't personally feel I can find anything better at this time than the trijicon.
