CROSSBOW FULL INCLUSION AMENDMENT PASSES 8-0
Pennsylvania Archery Hunters i just watched the BOC livestream in regards to approving the amendment concerning full inclusion of crossbows.Again as it was in the past some of the commissioners expressed concerns in regards to full support of crossbows back in 2009 and they are not 100% happy that crossbows are here. But with that being said most agreed that at this time it would be difficult to not allow them because of all the people in the commonwealth that has already spent money in purchasing the and the positive effects they have had with many different hunters (young and old alike). After much discussion the vote was taken on full and permanent inclusion of crossbows and i am happy to say that the amendment passed 8 to 0 in favor of permanent crossbow inclusion in archery deer season and archery bear season. The final vote will be taken next month but i believe we will have a majority for final approval.I say that because there are two commissioners whos terms are expiring and two new commissioners will be appointed.

For those of you interested here is the livestream link to the meeting i believe the crossbow amendment is at 51.12

That is great PaCrossbow. Good news my friend. I hope all goes well.

I need to contact all the commissioners here in my neck of the woods. I found this out earlier today while reading some other news. So contacting the commissioners here is next on my list to do here in Kentucky. Check out my good news today in the legislation part of the forums.

God news, Good news, Good news, Congratulations to all whom where involved.

The decisions here in Pennsylvania were made by the Pennsylvania Game Commission people not politicans as what is happening in Wisconsin. IMO political types are not the people you want making decisions on the resource! Too many favors owed & there is always re-election on the horizon! Good luck in Wisconsin.

That is awesome, now NY should follow........They usually have to compete for license sales, due to the great hunting/and alot of hunters that live right on the border of both states (like me)!!!!!! :thumbsu:

I didn't wait until I got home, but emailed at lunch.  I really don't want to beat a dead horse, but even a couple of the commissioners reminded me to make sure we keep the pressure on all of the commissioners in the lead up to the April vote.

So anyone who has any interest in hunting with crossbows, you help us here in PA it can only help you as more states adopt.  Put PA Game Commission in  your favorite search engine, then click the "About Us" link.  You even get a picture of each of our fine commissioners to go with the email address while you send them a short note.

Or just find PACrossbows post with the email addresses.  Thanks!

Great step in the right direction!!!  As more & more states go full inclusion the facts become apperent! We no longer have to deal in the "what if" we now have solid information to support crossbow inclusion. Facts will be the demise of the anti crossbow types!! Keep up the good work!

Sounds like you're on the right track up there.
Keep it civil and keep to the facts....you now have good data from other states to rely on.

Hi pa crossbow,
Thanks for the update on Pennsylvania's passing of the crossbow archery season hunting regulations.
Since we in New York ae fighting the same type of battle to get our state leaders to amend our regulations,
I will be sending a copy of the information you supplied to show New York State Senitor Gallivan how other
eastern states are positioning their regulations on crossbow hunting seasons.

Very useful information, thanks again!

Regards,
