I just made a newbie mistake. I bought a plastic vertical grip and installed in on my picatinny rail. It was very tight so I put the vertical grip in the lay down position and tapped into place with a small rubber mallet. Now the grip wobbles in all positions. So I think I ruined it. No tightening mechanism that I can find and no directions came with it.

Now, I want an aluminum vertical grip for a few more dollars. I'm not worried about the weight or whether it folds down necessarily, but would go for it if it holds up to abuse.

I have been looking at the (VG-KA)  Ace Vertical Grip, Aluminum for around $35.00. Don't want to spend too much, but am willing to spend more for quality worth it.

Any suggestions are welcome. I don't want to make another mistake & want a rugged one I can't break.

Thanks in advance for any replies. :)

5-position Foldable grip/Foregrip/vertical grip/grip  $19.99 (it was referred to me)

No manufacturer name on it. Bought if off the auction sight. Get what you pay for sometimes or perhaps I broke it. It is all plastic around the pivot points. It now has about 1" of wobble.

I have that on my 3 CB's never a problem. If you remove the little rubber caps there are 2 screws on both sides.See what ya broke inside..maybe send it back as defective?Mine were tight also but I hit the block (base)not the actual handle part. Those are great verticals for the money..Mine are still nice and tight in all 5 positions.

"If you remove the little rubber caps there are 2 screws on both sides"

By rubber caps, are you referring to the pivot bolt on each side. I assume this just pries off? Maybe I can fix the damage I caused by not hitting the metal base which I should have thought about.  :( .

Thanks. :)

I got it popped out and took it apart. The teeth on the handle are stripped off almost completely on both sides. I think I forced the handle down to the closed postition not knowing you needed to push in the button in to do this. Now I can see what I did and this ground the teeth off to where they don't hold anymore. My fault for doing this. It would have been nice if they included some kind of instructions to tell you it was needed to push the button in to move the handle. Ohh well, live and learn. Posted Image

At this point it is my fault and I think I will just order an aluminum vertical grip and make sure I follow directions that are hopefully included. I I like metal when I can get it even though aluminum is no where as strong as steel, which would be very heavy.

Thanks much for your help, I appreciate it much. I have been known to be a bit rough on my rifles going up and down mountains and falling on rocks, snow, ice....etc. My rifle stocks and grips have the scars to prove it.   :)

I will have to take a look at the one I have installed. It was a AR rifle accessories defiantly not poop. 2 years of use and its still perfect.

I'm not trying to belittle the quality of this vertical grip. Both you guys have been very helpful to me and I appreciate it much & look forward to future help as well. Your exprience with crossbow is a treasure I enjoy.  If one abuses even the best equipment, things will break. My luck has been running bad lately, no doubt my fault. I'm learning as I go as a newbie.  No ill feelings from me what so ever.  :)
