Well I finally did it.I purchased a Predator CRT Lite off E-Bay & then registered here on the forum so this is my first post as well.I have been looking at the ghost 350 but came across a pretty good deal on the Pred.(Cheapest I`d seen) So I snatched it up.I have a question about the bolts. When I buy more do I need to get the same O.D. & weight as the bolts that come with the Pred? What is the O.D.& weight?I haven`t found any info about the optics on Barnett`s.I have been looking at CB`s now for about 4 months & am at the point of information overload. All I know at this point is it sounds like I bought a beast.Do you think this Pred. is to much for Turkey? Is there anything I should be aware of with this thing.Or just put together & enjoy?

First off, Welcome to the Nation.
Be sure to wax your string every four or five shots. Keep your rail lubed or you'll burn up the serving FAST. I think Barnett recommends around 475gr. arrows for this. I'm sure the Barnett guys will correct me if I'm too far off. Put the thing together and have fun. Search the various posts on here for info. There is tons. Good luck.

Welcome to the site :) I also have the Barnett Predator CRT and it is a awesome CB.And no its not to much for turkeys tons of guys use the Predator for Turkeys.Check out Hicktownarchery vids on youtube. The minimum arrow weight is 445 for the Predator thats the weight of the arrows supplied by Barnett when I got mine.My CB is shooting around 380 fps and is very accurate.Wax your cables, string and lube flight rail every 20 shots will be good.JUST BECAREFUL WATCH YOUR FINGERS SO THE DONT GET CAUGHT IN THE STRING WHEN SHOOTING! This or any CB will take your fingers right off if caught in the string..

Ok, So I need worry about weight & not worry about diameter.I have seen some pics of fingers that got sowed back on after the CB string got a holt of`em.I will be careful about my fingers.445 gr. total weight or heavier but no less?Right.........

That is correct. You could probably go a little lighter but you run the risk of a dry fire type condition. If you don't use the correct weight bolts it will also void the warranty conditions. The heavier the arrow the quieter your bow will be anyway. You may want to check into aluminum nocks as well. The Ghost 400 was having some issues with splitting the nocks. Your bow still shoots heat and it might not be a bad idea. Others may chime in on this. Have fun.

You need to check you the O D. If they are to small, string will contact nock in the wrong place and bang, dry fire and broken nock and string. I know this because I have a Buck Commander and the guy sent wrong size bolts. Broke two nocks and two strings before Barnett figured out what the problem was. They sent correct bolts and wal-eye its  shoots perfect now. I love it and the Barnett company.

X2 on the CX arrows. They shoot real good. A little pricey but you get what you pay for.

Was at Wal-Mart tonight & ran across some Carbon Express surge 22" moon nock..348 o.d. arrows so I got 3 of`em.Just checked the weight & they are 479 gr. with 100gr. broadhead.I believe these are gonna pack a punch. If thse shoot straight I`m goin to get more.Or try HDMann`s recomendation on the bolts from ebay. Thanks HDMann! The CE Surge was marked down to $3.50 a piece so I don`t think I did all that bad.
Do you guys weigh your bolts for consistant weight?I mean like down to a tenth of a gr. more or less.Does a gr. make that much difference?

Most reputable arrow makers advertise the straightness and weights of their product. I will tell you that  most anybody's arrows are close enough in specs. for the regular guy to shoot. We all want the straightest most consistent weight arrow we can get, truth be known, we won't shoot good enough for a grain here or there to matter. I will always try to get the straightest shaft. It is so that I can't blame my equipment. You seemed to have found a good deal on bolts, run with it. If they shoot good, stock up. You can NEVER have to many arrows. Lol!! Experiment, it's half the fun!!

Now when you get this Cb dont cock it slide a arrow in it like your going to shoot it and put the safety in the fire position..This is to get it so its ready to fire pos. When I received all 3 of my Barnetts  they were in the safety on position and you wont be able to cock it until its in the safety off pos.AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST WATCH YOUR FINGERS !!YOU DONT WANNA HAVE TO PICK THEM UP OFF THE FLOOR Posted Image

Quick update! Da big brown truck rolled in about 4:00 P.M. & delivered the Pred. CRT Lite.I got it all put together waxed string, cables & the small cable spacer & had zero problems.Got outside right before dark & got to shoot a couple shots @20 yrds..Was shooting low but all is good & will sight in this weekend when I have a bit more time. All I can say is I`m impressed with everything about it.Was a good investment.I also did the registration on the Barnett website.
Just upgraded my vertical bow tonight too.Haven`t bought a bow in 20 yrs. but tonight I bought a Martin Silencer with twin nitro cams.So now I have lots of practice with sticks & strings before Turkey season comes in April. Can`t wait.......See ya later
