Do the strings on all crossbows have to be flat to the rail or can you have a small amount of clearance? The reason I ask is I have 2 bows that the strings ran on the rail and one was repaired and restrung  from the factory and I installed the front end tonite and the string doesn't touch the rail.Doesn't matter which side I cross the cables on and the slide is correct also.If I shoot it a time or to will it go down? i can't remeber how flat it was when I got it new maybe it was the same way at first and I didn't know any better.

Stevinator, I haven't shot every crossbow made, so I suppose it's possible a few are made on purpose where the string doesn't contact the rail.  In most cases the string should be guided by the rail, but the lighter the contact, the better in terms of serving life.  It could be it was like that all along and you didn't notice.  Go to a shop that has new bows like yours and see for yourself what they are like.

The factory replaced the limbs on my bow. When I reassembled the front end the string did not touch the rail like it  did before.I shot it one time and the string came back down to the rail.I just made sure the string and nock were aligned correctly before I shot.I haven't had any problems since and the string has stayed down.

Well we have had some warm weather up here and it has been high 40's so I shot the bow.The string came right to the rails like when it was new after a couple shots and stayed there.I will have to tweak the scope just a hair when we get a real nice day,it is shooting a hair left and hair low after the repair .But it still shoots them like before group wise so all is good :thumbsu:

Not a bad idea for everyone to put your bows information in your signature. That way you do not have to answer and people do not have to ask. So easy to do and everyone always knows what you are asking or talking about, no confusion, so questions get answered sooner. Just a thought.

I could never understand why people will not do this. This is the first thing we should all do when we sign up. After all, this is what we are going to be talking about most of the time. This why we join, to talk and share about specific and different crossbows.

We still do not know what kinda bow you are talking about. So any one else with the same bow and or question or problem will not find any use-full information for themselves either. Forums are a nice place to brag and talk about our bows and get tips and advice. However everyone needs to know some information about you are shooting. Just look at Staker's signature, you know quickley and right off what bow he has. Look at mine, you can see why I say this.
Again, just trying to be of help to everyone.

That particular bow was a wicked ridge warrior and I do have a barnett jackal that was repaired once and the string was on the rail after the repair. But they had the whole bow and that had me wondering,as I only sent the front end of the warrior in.
