What the deal is a friend has found this crossbow at a pawn shop in another town and called me to try to find any info. on it. I don't have the crossbow to take a pictures. In a recent phone call my friend told me it only has PARKER CLASSIC 150lbs. on the bow limbs. The guy at the pawn shop says it is a Limited Edition but the crossbow does not say that on the bow anywhere. The guy at the pawn shop might just may be trying to make a sell saying it is a Limited Edition. My friend tells me that it has a WOODEN THUMB-HOLE STOCK. And also comes with a string cocker that I forgot to state earler. The shop wants $300 for the whole set-up and my friend wants to know if it is a good buy. Also he ask my about the warranty for the Parker's. I told him I think they are lifetime warranty, is this correct?? Thanks for any info.....

This is a Safari Classic. One of the first crossbows Parker made. Made them for a few years. Not a limited edition. Warranty is for original owner only.

I agree with Briarpatch. I saw a used Parker the other day. I could have bought it for cheap, I forgot the make though. It was an older model for sure, but was not a safari. I could have gotten it and all the works for around $175.00. Also had broadheads too.

It seems you are describing the "Parker Safari Classic".
I've got a vid on YT comparing the Telson 130 to it (search 'darkhorse2reign'). Anyways I bought the bow for $450 3 years ago. If the guy is selling for $300 I'd say that is a decent price.
Spring 2011 I took the bow in for a broken trigger to BassPro and they sent it to Parker for me - who did something I never expected: They replaced the limbs b/c they said one was cracked and replaced the trigger... for free. I will definitely recommend Parker due to this outstanding service.
On the other hand think long and hard about buying a new bow... the Parker in the Pawn Shop may have a cracked limb you won't have anyway to know that unless you x-ray it. For a little more money there are some very very quality bows out there.

I now know without a doubt the crossbow is a Parker Safari Classic 150#
. My friend bought the crossbow with case, cover, 6 arrows, 6 broadheads, field points, 3-dot red dot scope, and string cocker for $300. He had time to go and shoot it this afternoon and called me... He was so excited that I could hardly understand him.
.. He thinks he has died and gone to HEAVEN !!
!!! He bought a PSE Cross Fire when they first came out and had hunted with it for many years. It was slow (by todays standards), very heavy and long and VERY VERY LOUD but he did manage to kill several deer with it each year and a couple of years as many as 6 (limit where we live). The Parker Safari Classic shoots about 320fps. and is much quiter and lighter then his PSE. He is VERY HAPPY AND PROUD of his NEW (to him) Parker Crossbow
.. Thank to everyone who responded to this post

he MIGHT have trigger problems with it eventually. I was told it is fairly common with that model.
The solution is to take it to a Parker dealer OR contact Parker directly. Like I said before, Parker serviced my xbow for free even though it was used! So they impressed me by standing behind their product. Forums like this spread Good and Bad news quickly around the world.
UPDATE: My Safari Classic trigger is broken again. Unfortunately I don't live anywhere near a Bass Pro Shop so I have to contact Parker myself...based on my last experience I don't anticipate a problem.
